Tried launcher pro. Liked it better than sense, especially the dock.
Then tried tag home launcher. Liked it even more. Up to 9 screens. Customize dock. Categorize apps.

ADW has a max of 7 screens and only 2 apps on the dock

My vote is for tag home launcher.

Thing is, tag is ugly as hell :)

I still can't vote :( I was loving ADW, then after an update, it started force closing over and over. I switched back to Launcher Pro, but, if they fix the problems, I'd go back. And I still like sense. It's so difficult :p

I'm currently switching back and forth between the ADW Launcher and LauncherPro. I love both of them, but as far as speed, I think LauncherPro may be slightly faster. But I don't know, I have to give it a couple more days to decide which one I like better. (:

is there any way to get a mobile network widget replacement because you lose sense widgets with this? that would make this home replacement app perfect for me.

I'm in the same boat. Love ADW, replaced every Sense widget I was using with a superior alternative except for the Mobile Network toggle. The only solution I know of is long-pressing the end key...tis better than going through settings.

I just went to this today from LauncherPro and I am in agreement with most here that this is the slickest replacement I have seen yet. I really liked LauncherPro, but this is even better. I find the pull up tab with the 6 hidden apps is really nice for simple things like the camera and gallery to always have available quickly. Really liking this one and will have to try and get my wife to switch over to this from Sense. She doesn't like fiddling with things.. :D

anyway to add more than 3 items to the dock?

While I like the look of the dock, the lack of 4 items, and it is not a very intuitive program to configure. I am going back to launcherpro.

I am so happy with this launcher, I won't be going back to sense for a long time. I really need a calender widget that is like the HTC widget. Any suggestions? What are you guys using?

If you have time, would you give us a list of the replacement widgets you used? I've tried fancy widgets, and it stops updating half way through the day...

Unfortunately I don't run the weather/flip-clock, so I didn't need to replace that one. The ones I did replace:

~Android Agenda Widget for calendar
~Meizu Clock Widget 4x3 for my homepage clock
~Dazzle for all my toggles (except mobile)

I talked to the dev and he said he is working to add more features, he said possibly a 3-D app drawer option after he speeds up the animation on this build. This guy is working incredibly hard to keep us all happy!!

I have been getting updates daily on this, it's nice to know the dev is all over this.

Did he say or did you ask anything about addition L and R action buttons? There's a little wasted screen real estate there that I would like to make good use of (the page dots seems worthless to me). The six slot dock doesn't work for me as it takes too much precision to open. I could just as easily glide to another screen with I have 16 slots (including widgets) available.

I agree that having 4 spots at the bottom will be so much better than just 2. I'm not a fan of the dock thing either.

But I hope nothing changes when it comes to battery life. I'm really impressed with how long my phone is lasting using this launcher. I got 18 hours of hard usage yesterday. Internet, GPS, music, etc.

If you want 4 apps visibly docked there's this really cool launcher, just as fast as this it's called Launcher Pro Beta check it out. <------yes the last sentence IS sarcasm!!

Seriously though, why change this launcher to look like launcher pro? We non rooted people have few choices as it is to change the look of our phones and as soon as someone comes out with something cool, everyone want's it to look like something else. Happened with Launcher Pro, didn't have the "4 apps dock at the bottom like Helix", now it does. So basically it's Helix only faster. Now this AWESOME launcher comes out, totally different then LP, but just as fast, looks almost identical to FroYo and everyone want's it to look like LP? Why is that? Kinda selfish........

I don't want it to look like Launcher Pro or anything. What's wrong with wanting two more icons? Make it optional then, just like the number of screens is optional. How is it in any way "selfish" to want more options?

Anyone else having problems with your mail inbox unread message indicator not working correctly? I am on an exchange server and mail inbox indicator does not work properly with adw or launcherpro. It works fine using the stock sense.

Exactly. Who said anything about LP? I just see a little screen real estate that in my view is being used sub-optimally. (Yes, you can enable the screen dots, but I am only using three screens, I think I can figure out which one I am on.) What's selfish about inquiring about a feature to occupy that space?

I was a fan of Helix for a while, but I've pretty much written it off ... that thing has the least-responsive developer ever. :(

I've got both ADW and LauncherPro on my phone now. ADW is a little geekier and more fun to play with, but both have the basics I want -- home screen rotation and an app dock at the bottom. LauncherPro is noticeably smoother in its operation (at least for me), and that's the key thing ... so at least for now it's the winner.
