Help After 10 hours Extended Battery 20%

GPS is off, Switched to only 3G, Brightness turned down to 25 - 30%. Only thing syncing is Gmail and weather every 3 hours. Display is 59%. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone, sent about 15 - 20 texts, played games/surfed the web for a little over an hour. Is this specific to my phone and I need to get a replacement or is something else going on that I am missing? Any help would be great!

This is not normal. What we need to do is isolate where your problem is coming from. Did you have ridiculously bad battery life with the standard battery too? Or just when you got the extended?

Do a print screen of your battery usage and post it if you can.. I am guessing one particular app is causing an issue. I would delete any apps you aren't using. I have been overly impressed with the battery life thus far.

He did say he played games and surfed the web for little more than 0over an hour. So that will drain any battery. Thats his problem.

just do a screen shot witch is built in. Hold power and tap home. Then post that.

However my guess is...

1. you have a rogue app killing your battery
2. you''re in a horrible signal location
3. your phone and or battery are defective.

i did read of a few people that got a bad battery or phone and had them swapped out no problems and that cleared up their issue. That is just natural that a small percentage of those mishaps will exist. Unfortunate but nevertheless its going to happen.

I'm at 20% after 12 hours on the standard battery this thing is better than my incredible was with an Evo battery.

Thanks to those helping. I charged up the phone for a few hours since it got in the red.

That looks pretty normal to me. If you have the ability to connect to WiFi, that will increase battery life quite a bit. I see you are in 3g mode, do you have 4g in your area? Just wondering. I get great battery life in WiFi and 4G in my area. I always have a good signal (which helps).

Maybe there's something wrong with the extended battery. I'm at 16 hours with 39% remaining on standard battery. Yours should last well over 20hours.

I was having same problem with standard battery... got extended battery and charged to 99%. After 1 hour of use(about 20 texts & few mins of internet usage) I am at 87%. It shows Display using 86% and everything else using 4% or less. This doesnt seem right...

I picked up an extended battery yesterday. It's been off the charger for 1 hr 45 mins and the life is at 80%. I've surfed the internet for about 5 mins, made one 10 min phone call, and hit the snooze button after taking it off the charger 3 times. All of this has been done while connected to 4G, but this does not seem much better than my standard battery. I may try a factory reset later today.

Let me know how it works with the factory reset... I may have to do the same thing. If that doesn't work then who knows, maybe some of the phones could be defective?

My extended battery is giving me great battery life. Have you guys given it a few days for the battery to settle? It was mentioned that you just received the battery. I would give it a few days and if you have the opportunity to bump charge it a bit. I'm an extremely heavy user and I can get 10-14 hours easily on this battery. I have everything turned up. Brightness about 90%, 4g with one or two bars, gps on, synching gmail on, weather update every hour, I play wordfeud constantly through the day.

Hope your luck changes.

What is a bump charge?

What is a bump charge?

Power up (if not already) and plug your device into a power source. As the battery is being charged, the notification LED shows a solid orange light.

Wait until LED is solid green, indicating it is fully charged.

Unplug, press and hold the power button, and select the option to power off.

Once powered down reconnect power source.

The LED will show a solid orange light again, indicating it is charging.

Once it's green, unplug the device and use the power button to power up the device.

Once Sense has loaded plug the phone back in again. You will notice that the LED is now orange again.

Repeat steps 3-7 process until the light is green immediately upon plugging it back in (approximately 3-4 times).

I don't mind the bulk of the ext. battery but I'd much rather use my standard battery. I really just bought it because it was 50% off right now and thought that was a good deal. Based on what I've read from others since I am not a heavy user I should be getting decent battery life out of the standard battery with low usage settings.

I just did a reset. I'll try and update tomorrow or later today.

I'm trying the bump charge. Pulled the phone off the charger at 7am with 100%, checked an email and this thread, so about maybe 10 minutes MAX use. Powered phone off plugged in wall charger and it took an hour and a half to reach green. Powered phone on plugged in wall charger and after 15 minutes on, still orange charging.

After my reset I put the standard battery back in just to test while I was away from my phone for 1 hr. When I left the phone it was at 60%. When I came back it was at 47%. At first I didn't think I had a problem. Is this normal?

It looks like the phone went into sleep mode while I was gone. I'm thinking it's time for a swap.

My phone did this and I swapped it out. I get 14-20 hours on the standard battery. My old phone was usually hot to the touch as well.
My advice, swap your device if nothing helps.

I know you've probably already done this somewhere but could you detail your settings and usage before you made the swap and after. Thank you.
