Help after 4.1.2 update: couple issues

Does anyone have this issue: after the software update, when you press folder, there is a female voice from the phone saying "folder opened" "folder closed"

How to disable this sound? Thanks

After the latest software update, I got a bunch of new features, such as multi-window, customized notification panel.

However the light notification is not working any more. It does not blink when I get SMS or missed calls. Anyone having similar issue?

cheerkitta,
Welcome to AF. :)

Merged both of your issues into a single thread. Any of you Gnote folks have any ideas to help this new member?

Cheers and thanks,
IBT

Disable through the accessibility settings. It's a setting for the hearing impared, so it might have gotten enabled by accident.

What provider and/or version of the Note 2 do you have?

Did you check the settings to make sure that the LED Indicator is still enabled?

After my last update, those voice prompts were automatically enabled so as mentioned above I had to go and disable it. Little quirks here and there but LOVING Android on the N2!

Thanks for the reply!

For the light notification issue, I checked I have already enabled the LED settings. I am using a provider called Moblicity in Canada, which I believe has the same version as T-mobile in the states...

Well i just got the update installed, the only thing which has changed from my previous setting is while am answering or canceling a call the device vibrate when i touch the screen, it was not there before how can i disable this?

Disable haptic feedback.

Have done that from setting sound unchecked that option but it still the same
Is there haptic feedback some where else?

In Sound Settings, click on Volume and turn down haptic feedback all the way down. That's the only other setting I found.

I was still getting some haptic feedback on certain screens and basically went through every setting just to find that. That seemed to have resolved any vibration feedback for me.

will i guess its under vibration intensity not Volume, though under volume i took the system sound all the way down as well as vibrating intensity all of them is down to zero, also under power saving mode i ticked turn off haptic feedback. but surprisingly its still there, only when i am getting a call and the min i touch the screen to reject or take the call it still vibrate
its driving me nuts coz it was not there before the update, and i dont have any application or anything that had been installed on the device

Have you looked in the call settings?

I checked on call setting but nothing there

I dont use swipe to unlock, but also checked on that and there is nothing wrong there, also noticed something very funny that i have diabled all haptic feedback though am still getting it when i remove or place back the s pen as well as only when i press the screen to take a call or to cancel a call, i dont know is it something related to 4.1.2 or what.

Also find this in old thread http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...rn-off-haptic-feedback-galaxy-s3-4-1-2-a.html

and i dont know should i do re instaling the 4.1.2 and check if it will fix it up or what

I really appreciate your all help thanks to all for trying with me to figure it out but still it drive me nuts :o

-EDIT- Nevermind...looks like Scandalex gave you an answer, but...from your screen shots, it doesn't look like you went to the menu she suggested.

And BTW, that setting is for something else, it means if you calling some one and instead of keep looking at the phone or put it on your ear to know if the person you calling picked up or not the phont will do small vibration for you so it indicate that the other party picked the call or cancele it, though i also never used them and since ever they unticked, but still have that issue.

I see...hmmm...you've got me so perplexed now, that I'm really determined to find out what that is.

Does this happen when the phone is on vibrate or even if sound is on as well?

This actually start after the Update, before that and even now i never put my mobile on vibrate, even after what i did on the setting now the mobile never shows any vibration at all even if i put it on vibrate, mute,or sound except that issue, once i touch the screen while on coming call it vibrate on any of these modes.
While am typing this am actually started downlading and will reinstall the 4.1.2 and will see if it will help

It is wired, and i am quite sure its related to the update though otherwise there is nothing wrong with my update regarding any other things, and its not vibrating the whole device Nope it only vibrate when i touch the screen to accept or reject the coming calls, which is related to Haptic feedback, though i disabled that but its still there...
Thanks all once am done with the reinstallation will let you know
Regards to all

I am having a few issues, the first has been there since day one and that is the notifications led stops working every now and again and a restart always fixes it.
The 2nd problem has only been there since the update and that is that the screen rotate stops working and nothing other than a restart will get it working again, annoying as it is happening daily. Also having a few issues with chrome freezing up on me and am also pretty sure thats since the update as well.
Edit: just thought of another couple of things that are driving me nuts, firstly it is forever dropping the connection with my home router, you can be playing a you tube clip and all of a sudden starts buffering and then come up that you are now connected to bthub blah blah.
Another thing is when out and about it is always trying to connect to every wifi signal, I am happy for it to connect automatically to my home router or mates routers that I have saved details for but why is it constantly trying to connect to every network it finds even when I am not asking it to search, maybe just a setting but I cant find it.

I never had any of your problems but check on the setting:
for the led: go setting- display- led indicator and check if the charging and the rest of the list is ticked or not
for the screen rotation try to uncheck the smart rotation and try
For the WiFi when you open the wifi setting, hit the menu and you will find something callde Advanced, check your setting from advanced, there is something called check for internet service if its checked uncheck it and try.

Regarding my problem i dont know if there is anyone have it or not, after reinstalling the 4.1.2 and my device went to something like factory reset and i have to set everything again, i am unfortinitly still have that issue :(
Just diabled all the Haptic Feedback and vibration intenisty is zero and still the min i touch the screen to accept or reject an on coming call i feel that lettile small vibration or haptic feedback am going crazy and thinking to reinstall the 4.1.2 again, its only me who having this or there is a way to diable it forever....

In Call Settings>Ringtones and keypad tones. Is Vibrate when ringing unchecked?

Yes its unchecked and i have searched online and realized am not the only one having the same case with the 4.1.2 there are few had similar issue with keyboard haptic feedback on S3

And another case of Note 2 similar to mine am trying for the 3rd time to reinstall the update which is running now and again will see how is the situation.I do my update via Kies and it consume around 1.3Gb hope this time it will fix the bug, if not will have to live with it till further update show up have no other options left :(

EDIT: this feature is also different, as if its checked it will make the mobile vibrate while ringing which is not the issue here, the issue is while in coming calls and when you touch the screen to accept or reject you feel the Haptic Feedback vibration, which will never go after 3rd time of trying to reinstall and i have to live with it till further notice, and to cool myself for a while i will try alwasy to pick my calls from my bluetooth headset and will never touch the screen.....!!!!!!!!!!!! So CRAZY.....

Well use this method for answering and ending until you have a fix. It won't help with the decline but no haptic feedback on the others.

You know what...I tried this out yesterday and noticed the same thing...LOL. It really doesn't bother me that much, but I wonder if it's something that Samsung programmed into the new update, to where you can't remove the haptic feedback when declining or accepting a call. I usually press the home button, as almath had pointed out, to answer calls.
