Root After flashed DJ05, no vibrate

So, my first time rooting!

I flashed DJ05 (JT Super Clean v0.9) via Rom Manager (after flashing the modem via Odin)

I knew I needed to flash a kernel too, so again via Rom Manager I flashed the Non-Voodoo kernel 11/11.

Problem is now my SF doesn't vibrate... Ideas?

About me -

Hardware version - i500.04
Firmware - 2.1-update1
Baseband - s:i500.04 V.Dj05
Kernel - 2.6.29
Build - SCH-I500.Dj05

You also have to push dj05 radio through odin
 
Hello i just bought a rooted fascinate and it doesn't vibrate has same kernel. I barely know how to use rooted functions e.g. rom manager is that an app i buy?

All i want is it to vibrate for now ha ha.

Yeah i would read through all the information here and in the root stickie before messing around with anything else....it.cam be a lot to take on at once
 
Update,
Reflashed dj05 and stupidfast 1.5.4.
Still only haptic feedback, no vibrate on text recieved etc.

Hope I'm not being a pain haha.
Thought I was doing it right, read the stickies for a few days before attempting.

Ideas?

Have you tried turning the volume down to vibrate to see if the vibrate is working at all

Hmmm may want to try another kernel then....vibrate is pretty weak on this phone anyway but you should notice something

Yeah i've been on voodoo 5 for over a month....so im not the best to solicit nonvoodoo advice from. :o. Hopefully someone else can steer you in a good direction....maybe some of the newer stupidfast

No worries, nandroid now... then off to try a newer stupidfast. Will let you know what happens!
 
Ok, flashed the 12/19/10 (DJ05) stupidfast kernel, still nothing. :[

EDIT : Wanted to test something else too, its actually the entire notification system I believe, as my ringtone doesnt even go off when I receive a text.

I know it may sound dumb but did you check in settings and make sure notificaton sounds are turned on/up
 
Strange..I am on JT's .7 ROM with stupidfast 1.54 and have no issues with the vibrate notification. Have not jumped to .9 yet as I've seen some issues around bluetooth and texting..not to mention the stability and battery life is amazing!
 
there has been issues reported with Stupidfast 12-19 and 12-20. Did you wipe cache on cwr in between flashing kernels? maybe it could help.

Yep, every time. I just reloaded .09 via SD card, rather then downloading from cwr, so I'm going to reload stupidfast 1.5.4 back and see if that resolves it, maybe just an issue from d/ling .09 from cwr?

I'll find out in a few minutes.

This is one hell of a learning experience for me ha
 
It definitely is, but there is great people like (nitsuj17, saps and others) that are always willing to lend a hand. Try JT's v.7 but it is recommended not necessarily to a a backup and then wipe data an cache between ROMS.
 
Have you tried another messaging app? Which one you using?

You actually get the texts, correct? Just notifications for text don't work?
