No-no, I think I know exactly what spartan meant! I'm going to wait a bit, as well, before trying this on my wife's Droid. Giving it adequate wait time is the only decent thing to do.

I showed my wife (has a droid also) and said I would do the same for her but only take it to 800MHz and she could have cared less! Of course she would not noticed improved performance cause it is always in sleep mode. All she ever talked about was the BB Storm (she said she wanted one when the first gen came out) and then she wanted the Droid. Now she has the best phone available (in my opinion...) and doesn't use it. I guess it is more of a guy thing.

google "Bugless Beast" look for Pete on AllDroid.
I highly suggest doing the Nandroid back up. I did the update.zip and was like meh, what's the big deal. Tried the backup tonight and WOAH! Lightning! It will wipe your phone data though and you'll start from scratch. I think it's worth it. Joe will probably disagree with me or something.

edit: I forgot to say its at 950Mhz not 1.1GHz oops. It's super quick though. I wish it had the stock browser, I think the Milestone browser is icky.
