Root Age of Zombies FCs immediately?

PowerBomb

Android Enthusiast
Velocity 1.1

I was really looking forward to trying the new game from the creators of the addictive Fruit Ninja, but it force closes immediately upon launch. A Google search turned up a result where someone on another message board, also running V1.1, said they could not play the game. Can the Ally not handle it or something? Requirements just say Android 1.6+.

You could try to find an older version of it. Newer versions won't run with the current velocity. Just google around with a .apk at the end of it.

Ok well I had been trying the newest version, but after reading your reply I went back all the way to 1.0.7 and tried that but the same result. Does anyone know a specific version number that will work?

Is it definitely something related to Velocity? Does anyone with a Stock Ally know that this game works? If it is something with Velocity, anything the devs could figure out?

I dunno how to do the logcat deal, sorry.

Does anyone have an older APK that definitely works? I've tried to find it online but the earliest I can find anymore is 1.0.7 and that still has the problem.

Really want to play this. :(

Just download alogcat or similar from the market, then open the game, when it force closes, it should put something in the log to show what happened. Its best to clear the log before because it will be logging everything the phone is doing and it can get confusing. Its extremely simple on your part and very helpful to the people that are attempting to assist you. The logs are very specific.

Ok I gave it a try and I've tried to isolate the lines that I see related to Age of Zombies. Hope someone can make something of it.

I looked into this app for a few hours last weekend. Unfortuantly it doesnt look like something simple. I tried a few things, no avail

My room mates evo4g wouldnt work with the application (running cm7) until he moved to phone storage rather than sd.

I tried using internal storage, and moving dalvik back to data

no dice.

I cant get stupid zombies to work either, anyone else have luck, stupid zombies is alot lighter

Thank you for taking the time to look through that and try to see what you could find out. Eventually I did just go back to stock 2.2.2 to at least give the game a try. It's a fun game but not worth any huge effort for someone to get it running on Velocity, not worth the frustration and hours.
