Root Air push ads

I downloaded an app recently that had air push ads. Found it and deleted it, however I still get those stupid ads after turning my phone off and then back on. Could it have saved data somewhere. Maybe titanium back up? I even get it when I flash different roms. It's really starting to poss me off.

Have you checked your sd card for a folder with info from that app? Not sure why you are still getting push ads after flashing a new Rom.

Did you enter your phone number into the app?

Never entered my number. It was a music download app from the market. I'll look through my sd card and see if there is anything.

what are air push ads?

Another way advertisers ruin a beautiful thing.

More and More Free apps are using them. I have add free and they still manage to get by it. Wouldn't be so bad on the developers part if some of them offered a pay version of their program that took them out.

Anyway the air push is just like your email getting pushed to you from the server not from the phone.

Ok to the OP
My guess is that rather you gave it your number or not it probably read the phones info and sent it to the server. I look for these to be more frequent in the future.

I don't mind paying for an app but if it offers a free version then let me try it out to make sure its going to work for my needs if it does great i'll pay you however if it doesn't let me remove all of it. Including the add push that you distributed with it.

So if that's the case I need to opt out on their site. Thanks.

Update, I had to go to their site to opt out and that seemed to work. Evidently they get your phone number through permissions.

Wow, I never heard of that one.
Guess its really getting important to actually read and understand the permissions an app is asking for before you download it.
Be weary of dialer or call log permissions, anything that allows root permission, etc. Really be careful of root permission apps, make sure its from a trusted dev before you let ot "in". ;)
