Alarm clock not working on Eris

thanks, I will try that, but is that a ONE time fee of 2 or 3 dollars? I hope so, but I'm almost willing to try anything at this point!!

Yep, one time fee. You can also download the free version which just doesn't work on Wednesdays but I am all about supporting the developer when they have an app I can really use!

I did as previous posters advised. 1) Uninstalled ATK 2) I went ahead and made sure I had volume all the way up and took a picture 3) Downloaded and installed Audio Manager (though it FC's alot) 4) Checked to make sure that my volume was still all the way up after plugging phone into wall charger.

My alarm works now. It hasn't in 2 weeks but now it does. Not sure what of these things fixed the problem, but for now it is fixed.

looks like everyone is trying different things to see if this works, when you would think the developers of the phone would know why.... I'm now trying my own "experiment". anytime I go from vibrate to ring, I check the alarms. so far, I have had three consecutive alarms go off OUT LOUD. when I leave my first job today, I will turn the ringer on...and see if my 4:45 pm alarm goes off audibly. I won't change anything else, just to see if I can eliminate WHAT causes this thing to work inconsistently. BTW, I have task killer running, and have been using it on and off all day, the the alarms have still worked.

My alarm has always worked great (I've had the phone for 4 months), but since I updated about 4 apps last night (Audio Manager, TuneWiki, The Weather Channel, US Yellow Pages) the alarm went off this morning but was silent.

I have Free Advanced Task Manager, but I don't think I killed the clock last night...I never have before. Also I checked on Audio Manager before I went to sleep to make sure the alarm volume was up. So I really did nothing differently. Another thing that was weird was that at one point last night, the time up on the toolbar got stuck at 12:08am while the clock widget was correct & said 12:23. I restarted my phone & it seemed fine. But when that happened, I started getting worried my alarm wouldn't work in the morning. Sure enough, it didn't.

Another random fact is that I left The Weather Channel app running all night on my phone (& up on my toolbar) where usually I kill it before going to sleep. Not sure what effect that would have, just trying to think of things I did differently.

I thought I'd post here, since it's topical, rather than the threads on Android 2.1 with dozens of pages. My problem is that my alarm doesn't work right since I got the OTA 2.1 update.

I used to have no trouble with my alarm. Alarm goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket, I silence the alarm, all good. Ever since the update, I can't silence the alarm, because the simple act of taking it out of my pocket triggers the snooze function. All I have to do is shake my pocket a bit, and the alarm is snoozed, no touch necessary from my finger. I never had this problem before the update; like I said, it worked great. So, what do I need to do? I can't find anyplace to disable the snooze button. Any random movement in my pocket snoozes the alarm. It's REALLY annoying. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

@BSH- I am having similar issues since 2.1. There is a setting (phone settings>sound and display> quiet on pickup ) which sounds like it would have something to do with this, but I can't get that setting to shut off for the alarm clock.
have been late to work a few times now because as soon as I touch the phone , the alarm snoozes. I could do that 40 times w/o ever waking up. (I do not like to wake up hehe)

Alarm was working fine for me on 1.5 so this is some new feature or bug.
even on 1.5 snooze button was small and I would often swipe by mistake which would "dismiss" the alarm, so I set a redundant alarm to be safe... now I just end up cancelling both of them w/o even knowing I am doing it... :(

Finally solved this problem for my phone. Turns out when you take a picture, it affects the Alarm Sound volume. If you take a picture (using the pre-installed Camera app) when the Ringer Volume is on vibrate or mute, it will turn the Alarm Volume to mute. If you take a picture when the Ringer Volume is at some audible level, it will turn the Alarm Volume down. No wonder it seemed random.

Now, whenever I set an alarm, I go to Alarm Sound & then press the volume keys on the left side of the phone to make sure the Alarm Volume is set to max.

To review, for those who haven't read this entire thread, the problem is that when an alarm is set (using the pre-installed app Clock, then going to Alarm), it often works fine but then seemingly randomly, it stops working. In this case, at the alarm time, the screen shows the alarm has activated & the track ball flashes, but there is no sound.

I'm told by HTC that this will be fixed in OS 2.1 (but they don't know when it's coming out).

I took pictures yesterday at my son's new college. We sat through presentations where they asked for cell phones to be turned off and I had already lowered my ringer. Then I returned home and this morning NO Alarm and it caused me to be late to work. I am FURIOUS.'

I used to love my old HTC. No more. HTC can bite me. So 2.1 has been out for a while meaning - They have a fix and they won't send it to me yet? WTF?!!!!

Thanks, whoever (& how many ever) said to uncheck the clock on the ATK. I've been having to remember to go into Alarm to each individual alarm (3-me, kids up, bus stop, so it's annoying & hard to remember) to click Done so it would tell me it was going to go off as planned. Tomorrow I'll see if it was just me killing it every time I killed the rest of the telenoise.

I used to have my unchecked and that did not solve the problem. Now I have it set to "ignore" (hope this works) Here's how I did it. I'll report back but I think this should help at least somewhat. (I did the same for Volume Control - Very useful, simple and Free little app)
