What is the best backup option for a non-rooted phone? Would that be Titanium pro? Sounds like none of the free version will do the trick, right?

Anyone test the GPS yet? Mine was working from the start but I can't really tell if it's more accurate unless I go on a road trip and see if it gets me lost in the city.

Mine seems quicker based on the GPS test before and after. Not hugely faster, but some improvements nonetheless.

Edit: Just tried the All in One program from XDA, it wouldn't root the phone either.

MyBackup Pro documentation reveals that without root privileges you won't be able to back up third party applications data\settings, protected applications, Android Market links, and system application data, for example. Also, you won't have the ability to backup and restore applications in batch mode with a single click.

The best advice I can provide is to root and purchase both MyBackup Pro and Titanium. Why? One or the other may not perform as designed either during a backup or restore and you'll be glad you have a Plan B.

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that the froyo update was supposed to allow us to access all 512MB of RAM in the phone? I'm still reading 339MB ???

When I was on Eclair and rooted, AT&T updates could still be downloaded. But that was a while back. Not permitted with my custom ROM.

Excellent reminder. An incoming call could play havoc with the update.

Trying it now. Seems to still not be working, says BusyBox is not being installed when the program shows it is.

Yeah, also did the flight mode thing...

BTW, no improvement with GPS for me even after a battery pull.

If that happened to me I'd install BusyBox separately if you haven't already BusyBox - Android app on AppBrain
to see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, search the xda thread for similar problems / resolutions.

Just updated with Kies. No problem whatsoever. Took about 15min. Looking good so far. Finally!

Looks good but I'm still having some lag issues. Will try a hard reset to see if that fixes the problem
