Anyone test the GPS yet? Mine was working from the start but I can't really tell if it's more accurate unless I go on a road trip and see if it gets me lost in the city.![]()
Edit: Just tried the All in One program from XDA, it wouldn't root the phone either.
What is the best backup option for a non-rooted phone? Would that be Titanium pro? Sounds like none of the free version will do the trick, right?
Yeah, it eventually finishes loading...Firmware installed, saw a bunch of command line stuff go by, then it rebooted, and now I'm at the Galaxy S screen for the last couple minutes. I hope its doing something.....
MyBackup Pro documentation reveals that without root privileges you won't be able to back up third party applications data\settings, protected applications, Android Market links, and system application data, for example. Also, you won't have the ability to backup and restore applications in batch mode with a single click.
The best advice I can provide is to root and purchase both MyBackup Pro and Titanium. Why? One or the other may not perform as designed either during a backup or restore and you'll be glad you have a Plan B.
Also, have you seen this?
Backup - CapFAQ
Yeah, saw that and it seems that nothing works without a root. If I root, can I still do the stock update? I thought that kind of broke ties with the AT&T software?
Just curious, are most of you guys removing the SIM and/or the SD Cards before the upgrade?
Excellent reminder. An incoming call could play havoc with the update.
What's the verdict on 64-bit Windows 7? Are people having luck with that?
Have you tried this?
[APP]SuperOneClick v1.7 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App) - xda-developers
I have not, so I can't vouch for its effectiveness.
Yeah, also did the flight mode thing...I put mine in flight mode, I assume that would also do the trick?

Trying it now. Seems to still not be working, says BusyBox is not being installed when the program shows it is.
Just curious how the updates are going? No bricks I hope?
I am thinking of flashing back to stock later and updating to the official froyo to see how it goes. If anyone has any problems, etc. it would be helpful to let others know.
