All I can do is call them like I see them. If that make CAPS fly, so be it. I've ignored him in the past when needed, I can do it again.![]()
I was getting more moving around on my location as well until I used the GPS Test procedure in the link I posted just above your last post. Give that a try (I had to do it twice), and see if if helps. The accuracy I'm seeing isn't 6 ft, but so far it's definitely good enough for driving with Google Nav, and the lock times are usable.
I couldn't follow the directions on that link. For example, when I open GPSTest, you can no longer pull down the notification bar to turn GPS back on. Also It says hit menu, then select start. That doesn't work either.
I'm doing it step by step as listed

I've never owned a smartphone so my questions may (will) sound very noobish.
I'm looking at getting the latest release of the Vibrant here in Canada which uses the Droid 2.2
One outlet selling these says I'd have to pay an additional monthly fee to use the GPS function. A US friend says he uses the Google Maps function for navigation.
Are these 2 distinct features?
The service provider for my phone will be Bell Canada (I'm bundling my home phone and internet services with my cell phone).
Can I use the Google Maps feature in Canada without having to pay an extra montly fee?
I only searched this thread a few pages back since most of the info relates to Driod 2.1

Thanks guys. However, I made a bit of a mistake. The current Vibrant offered by The Source still uses the Droid 2.1.Yes, it is both free and offers turn by turn navigation.

Will I still have the Goggle Maps nav function or should I wait til the Vibrant comes with the Froyo 2.2 already loaded?
This app seems to be to help out the poor TMO support folks being bombarded by GPS complaints that end up being some screwed up settings. Now at least they can say run this app and call me in the morning...
Use your phone. It is there.I went to app brain and no app whats up??
