Can I simply use the gpssetup.apk found on xda to get my GPS to lock in a reasonable amount of time? Thus far all I have done is install jt1134/ superclean ROM 0.4 from ROM manger along with CWM and LauncherPro.
Thanks!

from what i understand that di01 gps fix is more placebo than effective....some poeple say it works, some say it doesnt....but then again a lot of people (well some) had fairly effective di01 gps in the first place.

really if you are rooted and all, its just as safe to flash DJ05 at this point...as we have the DI01 radio now

And afterwards you will:D

Excuse the ignorance here, I do not see DJ05 in ROM manager, is it a ROM that needs to be flashed in CWM? And if so, would you mind pointing me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Thanks Nitsu,
I have the radio file and what I believe is a new DJ05 file (dj05_clean_0.6). Has anyone tried this new version yet? Also, do I need to wipe cache and data in CWM prior to loading it?
Thanks!

i always wipe data/cache between roms...but several people didnt going to dj05 and were fine :)

just remember 0.6 doesnt have a kernel built in, so you will need to get one for dj05 or you wont have haptic feedback (or an optimal setup)

I just read that Samsung just released an app called GPS Restore that supposedly fixes the GPS issues on the Captivate and Vibrant. Why wouldn't they just release it for the Fascinate at the same time since it obviously has the same issues that those two phones have?

I know there is a fix coming soon, but who knows when. It would be nice to just be able to download an app for a temporary fix.

From what I understood, the app released is GPS restore, which just puts your GPS back to stock and undoes the changes you might have done to it to get it to work.

From Android Central:

Now Samsung has released an app to undo anything we might have messed up in the process. GPSRestore does just what it says -- fixes any fixins' you might have fouled up.

Yea, I saw that, but I also saw that people reported improvements.

Do i need to rename the dj05 file to update.zip and use the apply sdcard:update.zip process or can you leave files named as is and use the install zip form sdcard option? Thinking it would be nice to leave original name for easy identification in the future.

Thanks again for all you support!!

Yea ignore that part about renaming it. Leave it as it is

Leave it as is, just use update.zip to install the dj05.zip file using clockwork

I see there is new DJ05 clean .7 available. Has anyone made the jump or is it wise to upgrade to the .6 for now?
I jumped, its fine, its really streamlined, 15-20mb less than .6. Just more apps and stuff removed

Thanks! Is it missing a kernel like .6, so I need to install a kernel right after flashing .7?
yes, jt wont be putting kernels in rom anymore since some do voodoo and some people dont. You dont need to kernel flash the one you got on now will still be there after flashing the rom
