Help Ally does not keep time

Hello. I haven't been able to find this in any other posts here or elsewhere. My wife's Ally frequently forgets what time zone it is in. By that I mean right now, when it is locally 8:40 PM, it reads 3:40 AM. Later it will revert to the correct time. It does this sporadically. Timestamps adjust appropriately, but it could never be used as a reliable alarm clock!

I was hoping Froyo would cure it. Nope. So I rooted it and installed Velocity ROM thinking that would fix it for sure. Nope. Is it just a faulty internal clock or something? I thought it got its date/time information from the network. It's not the network either, as all other Verizon phones on our account seem unaffected by this.

Hoping someone here might have experienced this, or could tell me if there is a solution to the problem.

I've had a similar problem though I don't think it's time zone related. This is my first smartphone. It's not the boss but it's a pretty good transition phone. Anyway, had it about two months and the time has suddenly decided to stick. It updates randomly through out the day. There has also been a glitch with it setting my 5:30 am alarm off at 3:00 pm. I disabled the alarm but the time is still not correct. Anybody have and answer for this? I have already hard rest the phone twice and wiped its little brain back to factory twice as well with no luck. Thanks
 
Same problem with me. I have a replacement coming to my house tomorrow, because of this and other problems.
