Root Alright, you people begging for one-clicks...

I would assume it does, it's essentially just automating the root process.

Also, CWR is working fine for me, I've used it to flash two different ROMs, make backups, and restore a backup.

Aah, yeah, forgot that's how you install it after the manual root, herp derp.

Suuuuuuuper simple though. Just DL Rom Manager from the market, and click on install CWR.

Haha, exactly.

I still don't see why people have such an aversion to copying something then pasting it in to a command line, but oh well, each/own.
 
just getting into the android game, should i just get this or is this still the temporary root? will a final, one click come out in a week/few weeks?

This is a perm root. It is the same process as the one that is out already, it is simply all packaged up into an .exe that will do all the adb commands for you.

If you're starting to get in to Android and actually want to learn about it, your best bet is to do the "hard" way of rooting (which really isn't hard at all). It'll help you learn more about the OS. =)
 
I can't get this to work. I'm running win 7 x64 and I have already downloaded hTC Sync which made the adb error in Device Manager go away so I assume I have adb loaded now. The error says it can't find adb. Am I suposed to place the rooter in a certain folder or do I need sdk loaded prior?

You would want to download the one that is for ADB NOT being set up. Once you have adb loaded there is anouther step that you need to do to asign a root folder that ADB will use to push all of the files to and from. This is not included in any of the root instructions, but the steps to do it can be found if you search for them on the web.

It isn't hard at all to get ADB setup, I had to do it a long time ago with my OG Droid.
 
A mirror for the one clicks would be better. I've been downloading for an hour and I'm not even a quarter of the way done :mad:

edit: after a 3 hour download and many failed steps, literally every step had to be run more than once, I'm rooted. WINNING! :D Going to flash Chingy's new ROM tomorrow because he's an animal and one of the best developers around.
