Root Alternative for EVO 4G's default camera app

I am sure this topic had circulated numerous times but just in case if anyone is still having a problem nowadays I hope this helps :)

Recently I had a problem with my EVO 4G freezing after 4 - 6 shots and has to be hard rebooted. I sought help and found out it has something to do with the kernel I am running at that time (Anthrax V004) on MikG 3.11

After switching to Underworld V07 things worked for me just fine. Though in terms of smoothness Anthrax wins. But overall I took the Underworld path due to better battery life.

If you don't like the trouble of flashing a kernel, I suggest using Camera 360 V3.3 which can be used as an alternative or in my case I use it as my main camera now. There are a lot out there but from what I know, This is the only one which has a pre-installed camera stabilizer (Not as good as a native stabilizer) but enough to correct blurry images due to motion. Also has lots of editing options which I believe you will find useful :)

The only downside I can see is the image size. When using the highest quality on taking pictures, files can sometimes reach 5MB or more. And when editing it saves both the original and the edited one. But if you don't have problems with storage space, then its sweet sailing then :)

i have not heard of it, but thanx for the tip. and glad your issues with the camera was fixed with the new kernel.

Instagram ruins photos. Don't use filters on images unless they are really needed (or you're just trying to be silly).

One really awesome thing about camera 360 is it saves a copy of the original AND your edit, so you never lose the original image.
