Root Always roaming, need much help!

My phone is ALWAYS roaming, no exaggeration. I was wondering if updating radios might fix this? If so could somebody help me out with a link?

Have you tried simply updating your profile/PRL?

Also, your not flashed to the Verison PRL are you?

Finally, there should be a setting in wireless and networks. Make sure you aren't set to ROAMING ONLY.

If none of those work, upgrading the radio might.

How do you update your PRL? Nope, I'm not flashed to Verizon and I'm not set to roam only. I always try to avoid roaming like the plague. I fear those giant phone bills.

Are you with Sprint?

What ROM are you on? If its Sense-Based, Calling Sprint and telling them your issue might be helpful. Do NOT tell them your rooted.

You can update profile/prl by going to settings, system updates, profile and prl. DO NOT do the HTC software update

It's pretty much every ROM. Currently is Cyanogenmod 7.1. I went to settings and don't see system updates. I tried going into about phone->status and clicked on prl but noting happens. It's prl version 60681.

The ROM is Cyanogenmod 7.1. I'm going to have to switch to MikG 3.0. I believe that is a sense ROM. I haven't flashed any radios. I fear bricking my phone and I heard it most often happens when flashing radios.

I have no doubts that with all the brain power everybody has here that this problem can be solved. The folks here seem to know what's what. And I appreciate all of the help here on the forums.

Good advice about making a nandroid.

Its not required to wipe the phone before restoring a nandroid though. Wiping won't hurt anything, but it'll save you some time.

Yup, nandroids restore just fine without wiping. If it's part of your routine, it doesn't hurt. :)

I've updated to the Amon-Ra style recovery after being on Clockwork Mod Recovery for over a year!! I still wipe everything 3 times and flash superwipe, just a habit. :p

hi yes im aware of the wiping but i refer back to an article i read from mik on his site when he just set up his web site in a forum he recommended doing it the way i refered to so i practice it and refer it to others...cant hurt
