am i rooted??

well, i took another go at it...with the help of someone, and i've finally rooted and updated to FreshROM 1.1. i have to say, it was worth the trouble i went through. FreshROM 1.1 is sooooo much better than stock sprint. not only is all the bloatware gone, but its 3x as fast. i'm glad i was able to do this finally.

you should try the new Fresh 2.0d or the Damage Control 2.07 ..those roms are based on the 2.1 update....I like both of those though..

everything works and i haven't had any issues with those two...

I just flashed DC 2.07 last night and might re-flash Fresh 2.0d maybe tonight lol

Yes some.....I haven't had any issues at all with Fresh 2.0d at all..

I flashed DC 2.07 last night and the only issue I had with it today, I wasn't able to upload a pic through Facebook HTC Sense....

but it works on Fresh 2.0d though..

and as far as LiveWallPapers ..i don't care for it..i removed it from my phone..

as tempting as that sounds, i think i'm going to wait. i haven't had my phone even one week rooted with Fresh 1.1...so i'm just going to enjoy using it as it is. now that it is working well, i know i can always flash to 2.0...and that's pretty rad. i haven't put in the kernel though...do you think it's worth doing? i'm not really havning battery life issues... does it increase performance at all?

Supposedly, the kernel increases speeds by a noticeable amount.

well, i flashed the gumbo kernel...it does in increase the speed, but i think its more a 'marginal' to 'slight' amount. i have had my phone running fresh rom 1.1 now for about 5 days without the kernal, so i was able to see the difference from stock, to fresh, to fresh with gumbo. very cool...

if you want a fast ROM ...i would go with pancake 0.1 and use SetCPU with it...it runs like a champ and the speed it's amazing on it..

right on - pancakes huh? if so...i may just hafta do that. i def think the hero is a way nicer unit when it runs hotter. may just be me, but i find it a lot easier to navigate the phone now. sweet man...
