amazing news all NA android to get 2.1

those guys at samsung firmware need to be more involved with the community and share that software they are using like sephail shared the fusdownloader
seems to me that its based on fus anyway

This guy uses some internal Samsung tool, I believe, and Samsung already's watching and not liking what he's doing (as he says). He shares Odin (which is internal too) and MUCH firmwares that Samsung gave through updates. Leaking the firmware download tool obviously wouldn't be appreciated by Samsung much and could possibly give the guy some troubles.

This may seem a little silly, but I am sitting here with 1.5 still on. Is it even worth the effort to put the leaked 1.6 on or should I wait for the official release? With all the talk about how slow Samsung is to release firmware updates I am not too hopeful that 1.6 will come out officially ( within a few weeks I guess ), let alone 2.1.

i spent a lot of time thinking about new firmware and reasons why samsung wouldn't go with the new release (>1.6). and i came with the conclusion, looking at the local shops and Samsung dealers in Croatia that Samsung is probably trying to distribute a low-priced smarth phone. and you can see that because price of Galaxy went down for more than 30% comparing with htc similar products with new firmware.
i hope i am mistaken, future will tell.

Yeah, Canada is not part of the USA, and this phone is not sold there.

this might not apply to us, but who knows.

Canada = Digital 3rd world
USA = Silver medal in Hockey

We've all got our burdens...

Canada invented hockey if u didnt win the gold thatd be pretty pathetic

Being Canadian, I'd have to agree with that. That said, It was a lucky goal Crosby got. The US put up a damned good fight and deserved the gold just as much. Very entertaining game to watch. I couldn't sit down !

Canada = Digital 3rd world

I would love to hear an explanation behind this. We have a better fiber based network than the US, we have better and wider spread cellular service than the us. We have a higher broadband numbers per capita than the US.

So, from what I can understand, we're "3rd world" because we get phones a couple of months later than the states?

Being third world is aboot appearance. it's aboot having less start ups. that's what it's aboot, ay buddy?
who are you calling buddy, guy? who are calling guy, friend? who are calling friend, buddy? who are calling buddy, guy?

All I can say to that.... Ignorance is bliss.

I also think you need to look up and read what the 3rd world classification actually is.

I'm in Canada and I don't think it's a 3rd world country in terms of tech. We can get anything that's available in US. But as a consumer, I would have to say we're definitely lagging far behind US due to the limited choice we have, especially in the telecom market.
