Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

Plants vs. Zombies is the free app of the day in the Amazon market. You have to be on a wifi network since its 73MB (yes I know the difference between MB and Mb) and Amaozon won't let you download it unless ur on wifi. Unless you know a way around it of kourse, then nevermind the extra.

Who else downloaded an app from the Amazon Market just because it was free and like $10? LoL!! :P

"The Amazon Appstore for Android is not yet available in your region."

I am in the UK.

and there was me thinking it was a world wide web .................

just picked up this game from amazon app store, but like 90% of the other programs i got from there it never got installed. As fun as PvZ is, its too little too late for me ive already beaten this game on PC and iOS, (as well as that mini quest in WoW)

Very frustrating to get the email on my phone mid morning and have to wait till I got home just now, only to then find that the Amazon Appstore is USA only. Why on earth Amazon would email me about this offer when they know (as I am a regular customer of theirs) that I live in the UK, is beyond me.

Just downloaded it and played it for a few minutes.

Not familiar with the game, but it is playing very smoothly! Pretty large file (+75mb), but you can move it to memory card.

I'm on a Thunderbolt, for those interested.

Well, the app is in your internal memory, located in /data/app/.

However, since you are not rooted, you should probably install the file, then uninstall it. This way you would be able get it out of your system. Then just reinstall it on your next device.

Hmm, I can see my /data/app folder with ES File Explorer, but it appears to be empty. Is that because my phone's not rooted and I don't have access to view the files in there, or is it actually empty?

Not working for me, black screen then closes.

Strange as the tablet version which uses over 300mb of memory works perfectly, go figure.

Works on a tablet but I'm highly disappointed the game is not in HD. Yes it will fit your resolution but the clarity leaves much to be desired if you ever seen it on IPad or Pc with an HD display. So Popcap is really disappointing me with there android releases so far since we been waiting a couple years now. Chuzzle doesn't even work on tablets not that I play it, but to me Popcap always meant quality. Well seems like they just throwing us Android users the scraps. Glad I got it free or I would be upset would of happily paid for HD graphics but not this since most of us already have 1 or 2 versions of the game. Was hoping for an IPad like HD version the graphics look they pop off the screen its so crisp.

Heres hoping.....Sad release

BTW don't mean to sound down the game itselft is awesome and grpahics arent terrible either just expected more from popcap. If you never played the game you want notice anything and have a blast. I'm still playing it over again on My Nook Color regardless. Must have for free and worth $2.99 if its the only version you can get.

In case you don't know this is the Amazon App Store free app of the day.

Working great on my Nook Color but it doesn't want to download on my Droid.

yep just saw that this morning, been playing it all day today on me evo. one of my favorite games. i like it better then angry birds (ooops hopefully i wont get trashed for that comment). stoked that amazon made it freeeeeeeee!

Yes, because you are not rooted you do not have permission to view the contents.

hello i had a quick question. after downloading the app store and when i was trying to download plants vs zombies i got a notificatino saying i had to complete some info for the purchase (which was free though). when i went there i had to fill out lots of info for like address, number, and even credit card number and all. i didnt do it though cuz i didnt know if i was supposed to or not. was i supposed to do that to get the game? any help appreciated

Is anyone having an issue with the AppStore telling them they have to be on WiFi even if your already connected. It starts downloading for awhile but then it gives me an error about WiFi even though it has already been downloading on WiFi. I ever tried downloading it like three feet from my Router.

Does the phone turn off while you let it download? If so there is a default setting with CM7 (I noticed when I was having trouble downloading things over WiFi) that turns it off. You need to select "Never" so it doesn't disable the WiFi when the phone turns off or when it is disconnected from the USB cable.

Yes, you need all of that info. Once it is saved though you can use the same account you created for anything with Amazon.com (Kindle, MP3, other merchandise and so on). Amazon.com is one of the safest things you could use for online purchases so I wouldn't worry about them having the CC info.

When you "purchase" the free app (or anything from amazon.com that is free or paid) you will get an email confirming the order (for $0.00) and that item will forever be tied to your amazon.com account. You can also add multiple devices to it as well.

I just missed downloading this by a few hours. Can anyone help? :( I've been reading so much about it that waiting two weeks is unimaginable. :p

I got mine to download but I had to try a bunch of times.then it took forever.and ever. Plus it got stuck on installing and I finally gave up and backed out and it turns out it had already installed, it was just stuck on that screen

I could see all my apk's but pretty sure they were being saved on sd card (was using astro)

edit: not rooted

I prefer the tablet version, yeah everything is allot smaller but it's readable and much higher quality, the mobile version looks really low resolution in comparison.
