Accessories Amzer Case

I looked at the jelly cases. I figured it would be better for impact shock but WAY too sticky for me...plus I like simple shapes...too many angles for me.

I am waiting the otterbox case when they come out!!!

Now I need to get a screen protector on it...I keep muffing them up!!!

Glad everyone enjoyed my lil review!!!!

OH and to the bad experience...I made sure it said ready to ship...I did 2 day shipping...Haha, I wanted a case BADLY for it...and not the CRAPPY snap on ones they have at AT&T

Disappointed in Amzer so far. Ordered the case on the 26th, received confirmation of my order and they billed my account. In the confirmation they said I would receive an invoice and tracking number, when it shipped. So I escalated the order. After almost a week later and charging my account, I haven't received any word on a shipping date.

Nice review, thanks! You can also get a lot of Amzer stuff on Ebay and Amazon, if you don't like dealing with Amzer directly.

Got a response from Amzer. They claim the case is on backorder until 9/7. I told them, if that was the situation, then they should have noted the backorder status on their website. I would have gone with another option, had I known it was going to be 2 weeks before my order even ships. I also let them know, they will upgrade my shipping to next day air.

If that is unacceptable with them, I can/will cancel my order and take my business elsewhere.

Well, my saga finally came to an end. Though they called me back & said that the case I wanted (grey smoke argyle) was back-ordered, so I had to go with the "clear" one, which is actually quite white. Oh well, I finally have a case. Note: amzer.com == fommy.com.

I really do like the way the case feels. It's not rubbery, & definitely doesn't stick in the pocket. The white-ish look is even beginning to grow on me. I'll post some photos in here when I get the chance. I definitely recommend it; especially for $9.95.

I did modify my Amzer case...the case covers everything but the usb port, audio jack, screen, speaker and microphone.

I cut the material that covered my power button because I couldn't really feel when I actually hit it....so now it is AWESOME!!!!!

Those Amzer gel cases are bulky for sure but at least your Captivate can survive a fall off a 5 story building... :D

I ended up at the mall today and bought the Body Glove case. While, I'm not partial to the glossy striped design on the back, which I bet wears off within 6 months. It still offers good protection, nice fit and doesn't really add much to the bulk of the phone. I still have the Amzer case on order, since I paid less that $15 bucks (with the shipping), because once this Body Glove starts to look like crap, I can just switch out to the Amzer, or vice versa.

Still, extremely disappointed with Amzer. I think the least they could do, is note on their direct website the backorder status, before you place an order.

Oh yeah... was searching Amazon last week and found a OEM package for the BlueAnt z9i. Had a z9 a couple years ago, that I really liked. This is the updated version of that. Got it go $24.99 + shipping. Got here within a week. Great headset and LOUD.

I've got the Blue argyle on my phone at the moment - though it's more aqua than blue, which is a bit disappointing. The covered buttons has taken some getting used to, but I'm actually starting to prefer it over the uncovered buttons on the body glove.

What I don't like is that it seems to really show fingerprints and dust/grime. And in the day or two I've had it on, it's already managed to acquire scuff marks. I had the Body Glove on for over a month with neither of the above issues.

I'm thinking I'm going to stick with the Body Glove for day to day use, and slip on an Argyle when I want to 'dress up' the phone (perhaps to match an outfit or whatnot).

The body glove is nice. But it is a bit thinner than the amzer..I like that little extra bulk(it really isnt much). I couldn't stand my on/off/lock button being covered...so like I said, I cut it with an exacto knife. But it being covered does add extra protection against water or anything.

I think the body glove isn't as nice of a fit as the amzer..the amzer mimics the screens likes perfectly while the body glove is a bit off.... Plus its what...$25 for the body while amzer is $10 plus shipping.

Same here - ordered on the 26th. Opened a call ticket and was told the case was back ordered and should be shipping today 9/7. We'll wait & see...

Another update on the smoke argyle Amzer case. After my request for next day shipping was denied, they offered to refund my shipping costs ($4.99). The order page says, "Shipping Now". However, they claimed that a) it would ship on 9/7 and b) that an invoice with tracking information would be provided the day it shipped. Well, the 7th passed... no invoice/tracking info. The 8th has now passed... no invoice/tracking info. So I guess we'll see what happens today, as the hours pass.

Very disappointed in Amzer's customer service, so far. This will be the one and only product I ever order from them. Plus, its blatantly obvious (as another person noted), that their customer service center is based in India. Evidenced by the name of my rep and her limited grasp of the English language.

my cases arrived from amzer today. ordered on the 26th and payed for upgraded shipping. I sent them an email complaining and they refunded all shipping. Love the cases. Got a purple for my wife and the smoke grey one for me.

E-mail them asking for the tracking info - I also logged into their site and noticed my order said tracking and that I hadn't received info, and by the next day I had the tracking number in my mailbox. I think there must be some sort of disconnect between the shipping and the notification of shipping.

amzer case for $4 on ebay:
1
BLACK GEL CASE COVER SKIN FOR SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE I897 - eBay (item 260656435446 end time Sep-25-10 22:43:31 PDT)

Just got my case, fits perfectly and is very slim and just the right amount of grip. Can't go wrong for $4.
Only wish it was black and not smoke grey.

Man i wish I would have came back and checked this threads updates out sooner. I recently ordered 2 cases from Amzer about 12 days ago and still haven't heard anything from them, now i know :( ..... Well going to call and see what they say tomm.

Finally received my case today. Removed the Body Glove and slipped the Amzer on.

First impressions. Amzer is a better fit. Cut-out slots for charging, headphone, speaker, mic and camera are aligned better. Also, because of the better fit, less chance for dust/dirt to get inbetween case and phone. As noted by others, the case also covers the power button and volume up/down rocker. While some have said they took an Exacto knife to it, I would advise against it. I don't notice any adverse conditions, that would compel someone to do that. From my experience with it, so far... it doesn't make it any more difficult to press the buttons. However, on the plus side... it does offer more protection, especially against dust/dirt. Speaking of protection, while I'm not going to intentionally test the shock absorption of the cases... my personal opinion, is that the Amzer would probably rate higher.

Style... the case just looks sweet. The smoke gray, plus the see-thru argyle pattern, adds a touch of class to the looks of the phone. Unbelievable quality/styling for the money.

Drawbacks... I'm not especially fond of the tacky feel of the case. It is a fingerprint/smudge magnet. Makes it more difficult to get out of your pocket vs the Body Glove.

Its unfortunate that Amzer has such lousy customer service, for such a nice product line. While I find it highly unlikely, I will ever order from them again... I would verify they have the product in stock, for immediate shipping, prior to ordering. Or, look for another supplier, carrying the product line.

I will keep both cases, if the Amzer ever wears out, or I tire of the tacky feel... I can always switch to the Body Glove. Both offer excellent protection and style.

Pretty surprised... I ordered my Amzer cases on Monday evening, went with the free "super saver" shipping on orders over $30, and got the cases + cleaning cloths today. I was especially surprised, as I never got an order confirmation, nor did I get a tracking number- only a "shipped" notification on the website when checking my order.

As far as the cases themselves are concerned, I'm happy with my product. I ordered 2 "Rubberized Snap-On Crystal Hard Cases": one in black for myself, one in blue for my brother. Pretty solid, and the rubberized coating gives it a unique feel: not too cheap, not too plasticky, pretty smooth, gets in and out of my pocket pretty easily so far. Added a little bit of bulk and weight, but that was expected upon ordering. I'll have more to add on after a little bit of practical use.

I will definitely miss the slim, sleek feel of the phone au naturel, but I was getting less and less comfortable carrying it without any protection. Had a couple drops, and felt lucky to get off without any major damage.

I'll have photos later on.

while it sucks to hear everyone's bad experiences with Azmer, i cannot complain. placed my order and was charged on the 7th, and it arrived today. i quite like the case. i've already gotten used to the covered buttons and the slightly tacky texture. i tend to keep my phone on my leg while driving and this keeps it from slipping off my leg or out of my hands. overall, i approve. thanks to OP for starting this thread, otherwise i would have never know about this.

Thanks for the review. Ordered 2 just now. Hopefully I will have a better experience with Amzer then I have read about here. :/
