This is good news, cause all you OTA'ers will be the guinea pigs for 2.1 on Droid.

Then, the rooted users will get the real goodies, which will be an optimized, overclocked, wifi tether enabled version a week later :D

When that is ready I will just root my OTA'd 2.1 :p

Great news. Although, I've had 2.1 several times in the past few weeks. :D

I was using 2.1 for awhile but my droid would reset itself about 6+ times a day during use, and the keyboard backlight not working made the phone difficult for me to use at times. It eventually got way too annoying and I had to switch back to 2.0.1.

what is this thumbnail navigation on the homescreen all about?

Does just what you said. Brings up thumbnails of your 5 homescreens and allows you to jump instantly to one of them.

That being said, you need to hold down on the little page indicator dots for a second or so to bring it up, and in that amount of time, I (or most users) could have navigated to the desired page anyways.

Plus it just seems that all the posts about this being in preparation solely cite "inside sources"

I just have a hard time believing it is all :/

That's my Australian Shepherd. He was cute at that size, now he is a big hairy ***hole.

baa hahahaha awesome dog though. My buddy has one that looks the same but they just say it's a mutt.

back to 2.1...

Can someone explain to me the proof that verizon is rolling this out in preparation for 2.1?

Can't wait for the live backgrounds! lol

So anything you hope to gain with optimizations from 2.1 you plan on trashing it with those lame live backgrounds, eh? Good for you. I'll stick with the yucky "dead" wallpapers, but enjoy the speed. ;)

I really hope it does not lag with those live Backgrounds :/ My droid lags with widgets at times...

When I was using 2.1 with a live wallpaper if i tried to read the updates on my techbuzz and gamebuzz widgets, the scrolling was incredibly choppy. Once reverting back to a picture background it was like butter, so I wouldn't count on no lag with the live wallpapers.

Was this on a droid with a ported N1 2.1? Wonder if things will be better with droid's version of 2.1
