Android 2.2 [Froyo] Bugs and Questions - Post em Here

FOR THOSE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS

For me, I think I've solved it...
Go into your Corporate Email, hit the menu button, go to settings. Turn off "Push" notifications and set it to anything other than push. I set mine to 15minutes and my battery was almost instantly relieved. From 8am until 1130am, I lost 85% of my battery. I turned off Push and set it to 15minutes, within a few minutes, the heating issue was pretty much gone, on the back of the phone, and that 15% has lasted me for 2 hours. I'm going to let it die all the way down and charge it up to confirm.

Functionally, this seems to be a major problem right now. I have exchange email at work that always worked fine... but it seems like it was killing battery completely.

Try that... so far, it seems to be working for me.

I'll try it, thanks!

Ok, my question is kinda random.

The Multi-Colored LED on the front of my phone has stopped working with Handcent and GMAIL Notifier ever since i updated to 2.2

Really not sure what the issue is as ive heard other people have not had this problem. Maybe i should try an uninstall and then re-install?

I would think you should go into Handcent settings and turn them back on.
Thats what i initially had to do when i first installed it

If you are on any of the other 4 home screens but the main one when you enter the app drawer, the home button at bottom of app drawer returns you to that excact screen. If you press the main home button it returns you to main home screen. Makes a bit of sense.....

I only use the one home screen mostly so I guess to me it doesn't. But to each their own.

In landscape why does the keyboard lag so much, physical and virtual?

Edit: nevermind, its just when i go to a large website on my phone like this one. Oh well, deal with it if its just a few sites.

okay so i spoke too soon...

my siruisxm android player does not work well if at all.

the endless repeat happens sometimes, other times it will play and then stop for no reason and it still shows it's running. i will then manually stop and restart it...

not happy at all as this is one of the main apps i use daily, for now froyo is a fail. yes one app will make me think it is a fail package, esp since there were known issues with it for N1 users.

ATTENTION: Motorola and Verizon have found issue with this OTA update and it is rumored that there will be another next week. For those who have already installed this, don't freak out, you will be able to install the new update right over this one. For those who have not already installed this, it's probably best to wait until next week. Stay tuned for more information..

Yeah, i uninstalled and then reinstalled both apps and still no blinkding LED. Then went into both, turned off the setting and then turned it back on, and still no LED. I wonder if its shot? I hope not...man, what a bummer.

o boy =/, what issues specifically are they talking about?

I upated manually yesterday with no problems whatsoever. However, it was my understanding that the new Froyo o/s would support Exchange Activesync accounts and policies. I tried to add my corporate exchange email and it did not push any of the activesync policies (pasword, remote wipe, password complexity) but simply added it as a corporate exchange account like Eclair (2.1 update 1). How do I add an activesync exchange account?

ive tried it so far, and it "seems" to work, but battery is still lower than what it normally is pre-2.2 update.
at this point of the day id still be around 80% but im at 60%.

I know it's a beta test but just in case the people over at adobe have someone trolling these forums I figured I'd post and see if anyone else is having the same problem.

I downloaded the Adobe flash beta test (much thanks Johngalt and Trident) and it is beautiful!! I did notice one issue though, in landscape mode I can't zoom!! I have a website with flash (John/Trident if you want it to test PM me), it's not a big deal at the moment, but this is for my buisness and it is one of the main reasons for getting the droid, asside from rubbing flash in my iPhanboy boss's face, easier than lugging around a laptop to show clients. Hopefully they will get this fixed, I don't know if it's one of the issues with 2.2 or with flash itself.

Side note - I noticed that Launcher plus was lagging a little (screen change and loading from another app), but after shutting off my Droid (I call it Droid because to just call it a phone is just not right) for about half an hour it's working fine now. That was the 2nd reboot after the initial reboot at install.

I've seen this posted 2 or 3 times already in this thread but dont see any replies to them yet, but since my 2.2 force update, the market is missing some of my paid apps in downloads section, they just dont show up in the market, not even when i search for them. For me some of them were Events Time Counter, Crystal Light Defense, and Jewellust. As far as ive noticed all my installed free apps still show up. I also have noticed the slightest extra delay (1 second maybe) when pushing unlock button for the screen to turn on. Also noticing the battery issues listed above.

It's because this build that we have isn't registered on Google's Market servers. This build will probably never be verified. You'll have to wait till next week for the final official build.

I am not getting notified of new Gmail. Have to go into Gmail and do a refresh. Thought it was possibly JuiceDefender just not letting the data check, but it even happens when JD disabled. Settings show it set to Auto-Sync from gmail as well.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but my Alarm Clock that used to be in the main menu section is missing. Anyone else experience this?

Also, in regards to the battery problems...I'm thinking a major part of this has to do with the fact that ATK doesn't seem to be working with 2.2. Apps seem to be reopening and running all the time, so I think it's just a matter of waiting until task killers can support 2.2.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks!
I had the same problem with music not being listed in Mixzing. I went to the settings menu, Select Music Folders and reselected all folders. That brought everything back in to the artist/album/song lists.

Is it possible that this might also have something to do with why flash 10.1 doesn't show up in markt when they said it would? Like when u click the link on the m.flash site it tries taking u to the market but says the item is not there. Maybe it is there but our build doesn't have access to it or the market servers don't recognize it as 2.2 ?

Well, yes. Not that it doesn't recognize you as 2.2, more like like it doesn't recognize this build as verified.

well finally got the tethering to work, cont do anything with it cause you have to subscribe to the service, which kind of sucks, lets add more money on top of an unlimited data plan already.

as for the vibrate, yeah you can turn it on in the settings, but why did it get taken away when you press the volume down. use to go the vibrate then silence, now it goes straight to silence.

Started with 2.1. Followed Trident's guide to the Froyo Galaxy (Non-USB). Worked as directed for the upgrade. I prefer LauncherPro, but I am torn between going native home, or the staying with LauncherPro.

After effects noted:

Some Sync issues. Only Google mail and facebook are Synch items in my phone. *Disabled Auto-Sync and re-enabled it. Seems to have cleared the issue atm.*

Pandora hangs on playing and loading the app. Seems that audio has been plagued with the 2.2 update.

No change in battery usage noted at this time. My phone needed to be charged anyhow. (No surprise there eh?)

The OS looks to be faster. Menus and desktop are noticeably more fluid.
