Android 2.2 Froyo rolling out for Nexus One Now!

im such a mewb.. i named the file update.zip, when it just needed to be renamed update.

FROYO installed !!!

Update worked for me first time, on Orange UK. Few apps like ChompSMs and the HTC keyboard aren't working though.

Please help as this isnt working for me (UK o2).

On a standard nexus one 2.1.

I downloaded the zip folder to my desktop.
Changed file name to update.zip
When I copy to SDCard it asks me for a password and then to reconfirm the password
Once entered the file copies over but shows as update.exe
I changed the .exe to .zip and the folder turned into a zip folder.
Power off, reboot, upload of the update.zip folder and the following message comes up.

E;Can't open /cache/recovery/command
--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Openeing update package...
Verifying update package...
E:Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.

What am I doing wrong?

Try downloading directly to your nexus one with the link. That's what I did and then renamed it.

Did you download from the Google link or somewhere else?

I installed it the minute it was out (I did this with Cupcake on my G1 back in the day too). Don't regret it at all.

I love it! I tried the hotspot and it totally worked. Things seem faster, too!

Google seriously made an error in their statement:

"The Nexus One Will Receive Android 2.2 in the coming weeks"

should have read

"The Nexus one Will Receive Android 2.2 in the coming weekend"

lol :)

Not sure if this is the fully finished version of 2.2
- The music app looks the same
- The option to move apps to the SD card is disabled for a lot of the apps I looked at.
- Camcorder doesn't support portrait recording

This is probably just a press preview. We'll get the full thing later.
It is nice to play with it now though :)

BK, its simple man do it...

apps not working for me are the directv, seesmic beta (only twitter part. buzz part works) , and a online radio. i reinstalled swype and now it works. thank goodness

Anybody worked out whether Apps2SD is working on 2.2 at the moment and if so, how do you switch it.....?

Or, does it depend on whether the app has been changed to allow for Apps2SD.....
