Android 2.2 is coming to THREE tomorrow

Wish Virgin would release it!! There twitter page said the same....but guess what still waiting!! Oh and spoke to someone at Virgin the other day said they wont be releasing it because they use T Mobiles service and they havent released it either...?
 
Of course Three have ruined it, thats why I debranded and gone to stock Froyo.. The reason for the delay was and I quote from an email sent to me from Three..
"I am therefore writing to advise that the Froyo software was approved on 27th September 2010 but can take up to two weeks before it is available to download. The reason for the delay was an issue with Twitter that needed to be fixed."

What problem? It works in bog standard froyo so makes you wonder what they have done to muck it up!

Why fix things that arnt broken???

God I hate 3 at times.

Downloaded fine but failed installing!

Just got warning triangle! and nandroid and hung.

The phone is rooted

Any ideas anyone?

That's why it didn't work, OTA updates only work on stock ROMs. You'll need to go back to stock and then get the OTA

Anyone know the OTA file name? Wanna get it to check the radio version

Can you please advise how I do that?

As far as I was aware rooting (I have not debranded it) my phone did not remove the original Three branded rom:confused:

I did install other roms that I did not liuke but restored the original Three version.

What do i need to do to get OTA updates either 3's version or just HTC's?

The leaked 3 RUU files are:

RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.20.771.3_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2

RUU_Bravo_H3G_UK_1.22.771.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2

I'd say get the later 1.22 one and flash this. You WILL go back to stock and lose all data but you can then hopefully get the OTA update to 2.25.771.1

Am right in thinking I just download to compute,r then run and put the file onto the sd card and then restore?
 
Right, how did you root? You could just turn off signature checking on your custom recovery and see if that helps...would save you setting everything up again.

If not, get the 1.22 RUU file above, connect your phone with HTC Sync and run the file. It will then go through the update process
 
Can you post the versions it now has. I know it's 2.25.771.1 but what about kernel, baseband, etc?

How do I turn off signature checking, is it in Clockwork?

As I have rooted my phone. Is there not a way of debranding thus enabling me to get HTC OTA updates without problems?
 
You'll need a gold card to debrand and it'll need to stay in the phone for all future OTA updates otherwise it'll fail and screw up our wireless settings...only worth rooting if you wanna put a custom ROM on
 
Not having much luck. Keep getting a USB connection error even though it's connected ok

Is it right that I'm replacing the same version with the existing one?
 
Yes, it'll just rewrite the existing ROM and remove root...might need to try a different PC. HTC Sync is installed on your PC and showing connected I assume?

Can't see much difference to be honest.

USB tethering which works on 3!

720p camcorder.

What other differences are there supposed to be?

I thought there were to be new slick buttons to access menus etc!
