Root Android 2.2

I rooted and updated my phone today to 2.3, can anybody tell me how to get back the notification, call, and alarm sounds?

How did you "update" your phone to 2.3? You mean you put a custom Gingerbread Rom on?

In order for people to be able to help you you will need to specify what rom you flashed.

Assuming you mean some of the ringtones etc are no longer in the list of available options?

Probably the easiest way is to flash a 2.2 stock like ROM and save the audio files. If you make folders on your SD for ringtones and notifications you can put them in there and they will show up as available options when youre making a tone selection in the OS.

sorry.. Yes I updated to 2.3.3 using the CyanogenMod 7... and ya, that's a good idea. I could flash back to 2.2 save off the files and then flash back to 2.3... Unless anybody has any other ideas.. sorry if I am not providing enough info. I am new to the whole rooting and flashing process. I was waiting for the push to come OTA, but from what I read, I don't believe that is going to happen.

Make sure you name the files with the first letter capitalized; Ringtones Notifications. I had this question a while back and cyanogenmod didn't recognize the folders when titled in all lowercase.

jmartino5920... Did you do this already then? Do you have the files already saved from 2.2? If so, could you zip and e-mail them to me? Save me some time of flashing back...

I have been using the same ringtone and notification tone since I was rocking the LG Ally so I never thought to save those files or I would gladly send them to you. I use one ringtone and one notification tone (both are Droid related and in .ogg format.) I would gladly send those to you if you'd like.

I wish I remembered the name of the ringtone and notification I have been using for the past year... Ringtone was something like "old phone" and notification was just a deep beep... I'll have to just flash back to 2.2 and get them off there if I can't get used to the new ones... There are a few things to get used to with this cm7.. I trully liked the lock screen slide down vs the slide side to side.

I believe lock screen in cm7 can be changed.

Did you try zedge for ringtones and such. They have tons for download.

You are absolutely correct! just checked and you can change the lock screen style on cm7. I will check zedge for ringtones.. All this is pretty new to me... but very cool..! Maybe I could just put a shout out to all as well...

Does anybody have a rooted stock Android 2.2 that would be willing to save off the Ringtones, Notification, and Alarm sounds, zip them up and send them to me?

I went to the zedge website on my phone and found what I was looking for and downloaded it. How do I know get that MP3 to show up under the list of selectable sounds when I try to change the ringtone sound?

I figured it out.. Thanks for all the tips guys!!
