Android 2.3 & 4.0 WiFi Internet HD 1080P HDMI Google TV Box ARM Cortex A9 Firmware

Will fix ethernet. About usb keyboards, I will try to find configs for them. This beta firmware is built from different sources than 20120625 and those new sources seems to be buggy (they closed some bugs, but opened 10 new ones :)) . I'm in contact with Amlogic about that...

I now have a copy from the supplier of a VISSON MBX update to 4.0.4 (installed original was 4.0.3) if that is of help. I installed the 4.0.4 and all keyboards work fine again.

Hello friends,

I have a media box (revision c03ref) and i got problem flashing the firmware.
I was normally able to flash firmwares, but today, i was going to use 2-28 4.0 firmware.rar file and my box got problem while updating. Now when pressing reset and plug power on, the red and blue lights are not blinking anymore and i cant update any firmware.

The box is not turning on anymore too. Did i brick my media player?
I need help to flash the media player again.

Waiting any help. Thanks

@stane1983, will your f/w work on this box?
Spec is Cortex A9, Amlogic 8726-M1, 512MB RAM, Mali400 GPU. Model: MBX MBX DVBT. Not sure if it's the same as the Visson box.
If so, where can i find a link to the latest version? The official f/w has an audio/video sync problem so keen to try another.

Many thanks
David

Not sure, run devicechecker from V-Play download section and see if your device is c03ref. If it is, you can try my firmware, but replace my bootloader (aml-uboot-ucl.bin) with one from your original firmware.

Thanks. It reports:
Model: MBX MBX DVBT reference board (c03ref).
Just not sure whether MBX instead of Visson matters?

Visson is also MBX, but they changed their device name string in android configuration before building. MBX stands for Amlogic's multimedia box device or something like that. You don't have to worry about that.

Most important is that you have c03ref. Just make sure you replaced bootloader file with your original. And after first install if you get scrambled picture on boot just repeat install process using reset button.

I have this box - f16ref VISSON MBX V2 with Cortex A9 1.2GHz

XBMC running on this box fine streaming 1080p mkv :)

This is with the alpha XBMC Pivos build.

Hello friends I have a problem with the device is simply not transmitting anything and in fact not combust all that happened after I had REBOT
Google Android 4.0 TV Box ARM Cortex A9 HD 1080P HDMI WiFi Internet TV Box with Remote 512M DDR III 4GB + Free

I tried to put a pin behind the machine and it did not help restart button does not do anything

Is it Visson box? If ddr3, I assume it's M3 device (f16ref). What did you do before that happened? Which firmware was installed on device?

Hi Stane and dear friends ! I have great news in case any of you miss it... I've just tried XBMC latests alpha (7-30-2012) for XIOS devices on our aTV C03REF version with android 4.0.4 firmware and really WORKS ! And quite quite well actually, even considering that the universal HW decoder XBMC is preparing is not yet ready the APK works on our nice aTV's !!!!!

PS: Also, the cherry of all this... is that you can control it using the XBMC Remote (official one) on your cell or tablet !!!! I manage to do it very easy and used my CELL to control my aTV XBMC !!!!!!!

This was the BEST of the BEST !!!!!!! STANE, this is all thanks to you man, and XBMC of course :)

Hope this makes some ppl happy like it did to me :D

Sorry, forgot the link (I think I can't posted so...) search for this file: xbmc-XIOS-073012.apk on pivosforums

Hi,

Yes, it was mentioned on this page :) LeftyVz is testing it right now on c03ref, I didn't install it on f16ref cause I'm preparing new release for c03ref right now.... If all goes well, will be ready today. About Browser issue on f16ref, seems to be kernel bug... so it should work on c03ref because of different kernel version...

Thanx mate for your review :) Your seller is correct, 20120629 is the newest Visson's firmware. Dolphin browser is crashing too because it's using same rendering engine as stock Browser. About videos on webpages, it's well known issue with amlogic platform, there is no full support for Flash on amlogic devices. Amlogic itself is working on it but didn't solve it completely. Didn't know about 3D movies cause I don't have equipment for 3D reproduction, so it's nice to know that it works too :) ,
Hmm i will try to test VLC, maybe that streaming will work :-)

About MXPlayer, it's built for almost any android device while stock MoviePlayer is highly integrated with system and video/audio components and that is most probably why you experience these issues with MXPlayer.
Didnt know that, 10Q :-)

Hi Stane,

First of all... excellent work. Without your work my generic box would not be usable. The original firmware couldn't properly play video without audio lag. I'm buying you some beers!

At this moment I'm running on your latest firmware (20120621_Android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref.zip http://downloads.v-play.com.hr/down...03ref/20120621_Android_ICS-ATV-108-c03ref.zip) on a c03ref board (http://dx.com/p/google-android-4-0-...-rj45-av-out-sd-mmc-usb-remote-control-128319) this is my device. It was a gift.

I believe it is the same as CoyoteX' device... or it looks very similar anyway.

Some of the problems I'm having are having are the same as well... especially 1080i output is not working as it should. Just a small window in the top left corner of my TV (Panasonic plasma TH-50PV600M).

Something that I have not heard anybody mention is that the Display position does not work for me. I can press the buttons and they change color (orange), but the image does not move.

One time I got it to work - the display position and I even got it to 1080i - but with the next boot it was all back to normal (small window and no display position capability). The one time it did work was after I tried a whole bunch of 3rd party video players (MXVideo, Mobo Player, BS Player and the included video player. That's all I can say about this issue.

Everything works much smoother and I'm looking forward to your next FW.

@CoyoteX: was your audio output working? I thought I read somewhere it wasn't working.

I would ultimately like to hook the box up via coax to my surround sound decoder (which does not have HDMI - only optical and coax).

Oh yeah... I'm testing xbmc as well on my box and it runs OK. The performance is only so-so for video playback over a smb network share. Perhaps CPU, perhaps NAS is too slow.

The xbmc alpha is not completely stable - but that's to be expected. It runs quite well though, but my xbox classic still runs it slightly better.

Yes, we're aware of that bug on 1080... It will be fixed in next release (in progress) - stay tuned ;)

Everything should work fine on 720p (including freescale)

After a little more testing of XBMC I must say that it is working very, very well for an alpha version.

The video issue I was having earlier must've had to do with my specific infrastructure. After some playing around with the box it's working better than anything else. Video playback is smooth, of high quality and the number of sources is great.

Just hope that audio out is working in the next FW release.

Thanks - it installed fine. Sadly didn't correct my audio/video sync problem, though. Now I'm wondering if it's defective hardware.

Hi Navaros

I've got a box quite similar to yours and CoyoteX (GV-13 Cortex A9 Android 4.0.3 TV Box WIFI HDMI supports USB Camera Market). I'm suffering audio/video out of sync.
It's good to know that Slane's f/w works in this boxes, as I don't expect the manufacturer to make a new version of the fw.
How did you manage to get XBMC to work smoothly? In my case it's a bit choppy.
How do you connect a coax cable to the box?
Once the remote issue is solved, I think I will give it a try.

Best Regards

Just to clarify, Stane's firmware installs but does not correct the sync problem.
Smooth playback seem to depend at this stage on the build of XBMC but on my box sync is never right, irrespective.
