Android 2.3.4 for Samsung Galaxy Ace !

Perfect 100% works had a texting bug but tmobile was happy to help.... getting 1200+ with quadrant...many thanks!!! whoever has not done it ur missing out

have u upload the video for the android 2.3.4 update operation on youtube?? hihi i need more detail and make me understand step by step .. thanks :)

Hmm.. buddy i think you need to re-flash, (and if you root, use battery calibration), because my phone is much faster than it was on VillianROM.
To your other complains, i'd say i prefer these small not-so-important bugs than improper gps and sleep of death..
Screen lag is there in any gb ROM for Ace right now, and that is the ROM's fault, no need for gpu for that :P
IF you chose you can switch back, but i'm staying on it.

hi buddy...
is this the official update by samsung??
iam planning to buy ace today :)will i be able to update from froyo to gingerbread?

pls advice
thnks

i updated my galaxy ace to 2.3.4 and my screen turns off randomly like every 5 minutes and i need to press power to turn on the screen, so i downgraded my phone to 2.3.3 and the problem is still there, anyone know how to fix this? (sorry for my bad English)

Got the exact same problem! The screens turns off while im usin it! It doesnt lock itself, it only turns off the screen. The screens turns black! I know it is unlocked because i can still use the mobile (enter an app, move the web browser, play music..) but the screen is off. When i press the power button then the image comes back to my ace and obviously locks it.
I hope you understand my problem. Do anyone knows what should i do? Its really annoying because it happens like, a lot of times, while im on internet, messaging, playing, everytime!
Do I have to flash it again or downgrading it to froyo? I wish not, because I love 2.3.4. Any solutions, thanks. ACF

Yeah it is possible to upgrade the ace to 2.3.4, BUT it isnt an official Samsung upgrade.
It also works fine except for some minor bugs that some people suffer (like me), but others dont. Obviously it has some risks to flash the ace because as i said it isnt official, it was filtered from some company or from samsung. If you want you can upgrade it this way and if you dont like it you can downgrade it back. It is really easy, but it is under your own risk. I will stay with the 2.3.4
Or you can wait for the official samsung release, which I think will be soon, because in some places it has been released via kies (i think europe). Your choice.
Wish you understand my idea and ive helped you

Flashed to 2.3.4 successfully... had a few issues with force close and lockscreen but now works like a charm after a couple of days. Overall happy with the performance of the phone now!!!

cannot receive or send MMS after upgrade to 2.3.4 even install the configuration message... anyone know how solve it :(

I have upgraded the firmware successfully to 2.3.4 and everything works fine except one issue. Previously when the firmware was froyo, I was able to access the android market, gmail and facebook etc.. using my data connection (2G).. After upgrading to 2.3.4, not able to access any of the applications which needs internet. I am only able to access gmail and facebook via browsers only. When I use Wi-Fi connection, I am able to access all the applications now also, but the problem is only with 2G connection.

Anyone faced similar issue after upgrading firmware..?? Any ideas/suggestions??

did this last night.... dunno what the hell you guys are complaining about. The way its so much better and smoother. Fixes the wifi screen of death. Smoother. MUCH MUCH MUCH better battery life. Was using my phone at work today ALOT and i think only like 1/6 of the battery went the whole day. Oh and the ONE SECOND delay when coming out of sleep is probably a programming error and will definately be fixed. AWEEEE GUYSSS

but now one question. It says in my kies that it is the serbian version and "this version of the device cannot be updated" will it be able to get updated when the proper update is available or what do i do>??

I would like to upgrade my galaxy Ace.
After updating, can I restore it to the original firmware later? Is there any way to back up the original 2.2 firmware?
i know this is a non-official update. What can I do if there occur any issues? Will I get my warranty?

The issue has been resolved. It was due to the APN settings, I was not able to access internet for apps whereas through browser i was able to.

Hi guys,

I've been using my s5830 for four days now after flashing it from Froyo to Gingerbread 2.3.4

Do anyone experience about 1.5 sec response before the unlock screen appears?

And also, I experience setting the phone in Vibrate / Silent, but when I receive an SMS message, the message alert tone goes off and the phone is not on silent mode anymore.

Is there any fix for this? Or do I just have my setting wrong?

Note:
I rooted my phone and set an mp3 file as message alert tone

Has anyone experienced that battery life is decreased after the 2.3.4 update; specially on 3g network or playing videos, mp3.

I could use ace at least 2 days in Froyo, now only about 12 hrs :(

Just updated my ace to 2.3.4.
Was waiting to do this since long back..
The phone feels much much much better.:D:D. Cannot say anything about the battery life though as its just five minutes after updating.

Thanks for the guide pujitjuneja.

PS: I dont even have the 1 sec delay on the lock screen. Maybe i am lucky :D:D

I cannot uninstall the default apps using titanium backup.
When i press uninstall the phone reboots and enters into maintainance mode.
Then it flashes an "installation aborted" message and i have to reboot the phone.:mad:
Please help.

How to install the stock gingerbread keyboard and launcher on 2.3.4 ?
