Android 2.x on Galaxy

I'm quite happy by now, this works much better than I expected. Outgoing voice quality being the biggest issue.

Ill keep it for a bit, to test more. if anyone have questions, here i am.

Can you find and install Google Goggles? That's the real test if it's actual 2.0, or just skinned!

I know the camera doesnt work yet on the ROM, but u shud at least be able to install goggles..

it's definately not a skin. goggles are unavailable on the market, maps 3.3.1 crashes so i'm back to 3.2.x
good things:
-lock screen is faster, nicer, shows battery % when charging, screen unlocks faster than on stock Roms
- browser is improved
- market as well
- battery % is more realistic, yellow indicator appears much before shutdown
- swap is not enabled in the kernel, kernel is 2.6.27 but no evidence that musty used drakaz' sources, nor which update is used. room is rooted, but there's no superuser whitelist app, no busybox

....

I have to say that I'm kinda new to this whole business. Guess I didn't take any backups of the rom. Is it possible to obtain the stock rom somewhere else?

need to do more test, think battery will be fine.

There are a lot of hidden changes inside, i really suggest you guys to tfy thos rom
i'm already in love, it would be hard to go back to 1.5..

goggles installed via google search, seems tha app didmt recognise faulty camera and continue working.

after flashing this on my phone, i installed the htc touch input keyboard but every time i try to type, the touch input force closes. anyone else experiencing this?

please also tell us what's still missing - do wifi, bt etc. work ok?
ie. why wouldn't everyone want to upgrade to it just yet?

Very first post of this thread.:p

- also, there's no mention of it, but does anyone know if he's planning on putting gps support in too??

ah, guess my expectations for "a list of un/supported features" were a tad too high :P

tho' my questions are still more or less answered; unsatisfying call-quality, no gps, no bt, nonfunctioning handsfree, defective sync, external sd not supported etc.
i'm thinking it'll be a while 'till this thing can be seriously considered as a replacement even for the standard cupcake k4

For most people yeah. External SD should be working now though.

Personally I can live without BT (since it's useless to me right now on Android 1.5), handsfree, and sync since I don't use them anyway. GPS would be very nice but at least cell tower location thing is working.
