Android 2.x on Galaxy

Pretty much the only reason I want 2.0 is for multitouch support - is this likely to come with that, or are they literally just trying to make it function exactly like 1.5 (albeit with the new apps it allows such as new market and goggles)??

without samsung modifying melfaz drivers for multitouch, we won't be getting any multitouch on 2.x. but who knows :?

what i'm expecting mostly from 2.0 is pptp support, new market, google apps (new maps, goggles,...), bluetooth data (send any file via bt), different timers for turning off screen and lock phone, contacts improvements (private mobile,...), html5 support in the browser

anything new from the cooking master since this rom came out? anyone talked to him or whatever?

he updated the thread at modaco, not with new info unfortunately.

adobe mentioned 2.0, we'll see. there is a video of nexus running flash...

I don't think any device upgrade will be to anything other than 2.1 (or later).
Google says that the only differences between 2.0.1 & 2.1 are that the live wallpaper api are enabled and working, no other major changes...

why dont they do 2.1 instead and be fully up to date? i dont understand
At the moment if he'd said they were updating to 1.6 I'd be a great deal happier than I am now! If this pans out I'll be pretty happy :)

Also, surely this is Sammy Dutch not Italian? It's a ropey translate tho...

at this point i have more faith in Mustymod completeing a 2.0 port than samsung

so i will be keeping an eye on this thread

Great work Mustymod and too bad i didnt see a donate button anywhere

i hope he finishes soon

Google Press event at CES. Sanjay at Moto also said that not all devices, particularly legacy devices will NOT see the 2.1 update. Why? Because 2.1 utilizes a lot of 3D rendering and some chipsets are not capable of handling such load. So, those devices are not going to see the upgrade (likely). If your phone has a viable chipset, then you will see an upgrade to 2.1.
Perhaps the Galaxy's specs just aren't quite there...
Still, 2.0 would be nice.
