LOL, what do you mean "why is that"? ))) Because it's a bug, that's why. The firmware is not claimed to be stable, and so you've got the consequences. Anyway, rather than asking whys is that, you'd better report it to the developer at Modaco forums or somehow else.

You're not the first one noticing that. Yes, it's a bug and people are reporting it on musty's site, in the comments.

I think I'm ready to give mustymod a go. I'm currently running galaxo 1.1.1 and have recovery 4.4
Is it just a case of doing my backups from recovery, wipe, then flashing with odin, restore g.apps and boot, or have i missed something?

People, stop asking before you read at least something! Go to developer's page and read how to flash his ROM.

Mustymod needs to be flashed with Odin. It has nothing to do with Drakaz's Recovery and restoring G.Apps.

Actually in the dev page it just says "use with odin", which is a bit weird since I only used the recovery for Galaxhero, and hence the confusion around the 2.0 issue. :)

Yes I found it confusing, but I "think" I get it now.

It seems the term ROM is quite generic regarding updates.
For galaxo/galaxhero the only way it seems to get it on the phone is via recovery due to the fact that's it's not a complete firmware, you need to have II5 on the phone already and you use recovery to push update.zip, kind of like a patch to the existing firmware, maybe?

Where as mustymod is a complete firmware and doesn't require the use of recovery or a pre existing firmware revision, therefore you can just flash it with odin and it's job done.

My thinking on that might be completely wrong, I dunno?

Like you say, if you're not as knowledgeable as maybe some others on the forum, the instructions "use with odin" can seem a bit vauge.

I have read pages and pages of stuff regarding flashing firmwares, most of it related to recovery mode and galaxo/galaxhero, presumably because 2.x firmwares have not been around so long.

Anyhow, I would rather ask something and risk looking like an idot, than brick my phone because I thought I knew it all.

Just flash the damn thing with Odin. How else would you "use it with Odin" anyway ;)
This may be easy for you Informale but we have a lot of excited Galaxy users who are afraid to brick their phones. Unless it is "One step, two step, three step.." they will be extra cautious and with good reason.

If someone in the "know" has the time they could consolidate the steps in an easy step by step format INCLUDING backup and recover that would be very helpful.

Everyone is eternally grateful for the work done by the phone phreaks here and over on Mustymod. Thank you.

Im grateful for all the help people provide in these forums.
But u have to understand them to, people keep asking the same questions over and over again and it tends to get a little frustrating.
Besides, there are shitload of tutorials how to do this and that, most of them are very easy to use.
For people that don't understand those tutorials its best to leave the phone alone, because if u dont understand such easy steps it's not very likely you'll fix the phone if something goes wrong.

Hey,I agree
I think we need a new sticky post with clear instructins on how to install this rom , the risks involved etc is needed. I am amazed at the speed at which this forum moves along, having left for a couple of weeks it took a lot of reading to catch up to par again so I can imagine what it could be like for a new member, knowing also that this forum has members from all over the world and not all have english as there mother tongue, so a little bit more understanding is needed from older members, what seems easy to us dose not mean it is to others.

I updated to 1.03b yesterday (from the original stock version H4).
What a vast important in responsiveness! the UI is much more fluid.

Some bugs I would like to confirm with you guys:

* Charging status sometimes goes haywire, not updating the battery charge level while charging. if I connect the phone to the charger at 15%, It will stay that way until unplugging the phone.
* YouTube high quality not working well, related to the 3D acceleration some how?

Anyone else encountered these?
And another question, anyone have a working version of the voice search plugin? because of the missing market apps issue, I can't find it.

yep, charging issue happened about two times since I installed 1.00 version

yep, framebuffer problems with video driver, i'm pretty sure musty is working on it.

btw, installing 2.x messes up your account, you will no longer see protected apps in the market (protected is not the same as paid, even free apps can be protected) .. reverting to 1.5 (any fw/rom) won't help.

on the other side, having mustymod on for a day and then nandroid backup back to galaxo enabled market notifications for updated apps. i never had that on galaxo. although the number of updated apps is not correct, probably shows apps that are compatible with 2.0 too, hence you can not see all of them.

musty is warned about that, hopefully he'll fix that...

OK what I was trying to say was, android 2 on galaxy is pulling over 21,000 hits it is six pages long, I know thers is the http://androidforums.com/samsung-i7500/17038-i7500-tutorials-guides-buglists.html , perhaps a specific android 2 guide would save a lot of question for the beginners rushing to install it, even though the guide for odin is really clear. I would write it but I have not tryed "2" yet as I need my phone for work and feel that 1.03b is not stable enough.

you have to get 2 from the authors website right?
it tells you on the very site you get the firmware from that you use odin to flash it
we cannot have stickies for everything. we would have 1 page full of them

im sorry but there is enough info on the musty mod page and guides on using odin for people to use it

if people cba ready then thats their problem as they would still need to read the sticky
