All three articles are simply padding around the same one-line tweet from Eldar Murtazin, reported here on Phandroid on Feb 10th. Whatever a "tech insider" is, it's not infallible - Murtazin has been known to be wrong in the past.

I flashed 2.3.6 Frankenstein via ODIN. Debrands your phone and saves you waiting for carriers to come up with updates.

I hope version 4 comes available over at XDA to save the wait...
