Android 4.0 (ICS) - when?

Just foundthis thread on another site i use (Galaxy SII ICS Upgrade set for Monday ?)

"So, we’ve had a few dates regarding the Galaxy SII Ice Cream Sandwich update. Last we heard, it was sometime soon and we’ve previously heard dates ranging from Q1 to March 1st. Now best-mobile-contracts have a confirmed date of March 19th, which is this coming Monday. They have a statement from Samsung which reads…
Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S II will be available from week commencing 19th March, however the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network’s own software approvals process.
..now of course, if you’ve got a network-branded device then you can expect to wait a little longer, but it’s promising news indeed. We’d love to hear from you when you get the official update.

I updated mine today, Touchwiz has taken away the sexy look of ICS, Doesn't look much different to Gingerbread  But yeah all works fine just let down a bit by TW

me personally im waiting for checkrom ICS, on xda GC said around 3-4 days for a release but im happy to sit in wait and let those boys optimise the s+++ out of it, i cant see why everyones rushing to ICS

I think tomorrow I will go back to GB, The scrolling annoys me and battery life isn't great from what I've seen so far.

XXLPQ not found a difference yet but many things seem to be working and oh the "Y" and "Z" key are in the wrong places lol

The details for my GS2 are - PDA:KI4 / PHONE:KI1 / CSC:KH2(XEU)

Am I unbranded and will then get ICS on 19th March?

Thanks

If that information was accurate (and not just speculation), then yes, you will get yours the WEEK OF the 19th. That means between the 19th-23rd. I know that many are flashing via Odin, but I'm going to wait.

I flashed it from the XDA website (LINK) and haven't had any problems. It seems that most that have issues are coming from a custom or Frankenstein rom. Mine was stock bar being rooted and the install was quick, the first load was quick and nothing was lost except having to redo the homescreens. I really like the new look. It's not a massive change but it's definitely a hell of a lot cleaner.

I'm not convinced i'll ever get an update lol!
DBT - Germany, international version, no carrier software and never had an update. Still on 2.3.4 :(

Looking at all the new threads started about "this doesn't work, that doesn't work, after ICS upgrade", I'm happy to wait.

Too many changes/bugs seem to be in there!

To be fair the slight issues I've outlined are minor compared to the improvements. The speed is crazy and the UI improvements are nice. I'm loving the 2D Hardware acceleration under the 'Developer options', it makes browsing so slick! And moving around the phone is fast. And the task manager...... epic!

I think you'd have to wait for a few updates before all the issues are ironed out but for the moment the issues I have don't distract from the use of the phone.

:)

If/when ICS becomes available for SG2 owners to download is it worth waiting for the initial euphoria to die down in order to ascertain if this initial upgrade is bug ridden and thus renders a working phone (running on Android 2.3.x) problematic? Is it worth waiting until the bugs that are [perhaps] present to be ironed out?

Thanks
