Android 6.0 Marshmallow is Here !! Post your findings

It does - even if I get the update, I have to be absolutely silent about it :(

But I can tell you this: the moment I'm released from the NDA, you'll know all about it!

What I don't understand is why they don't want you to talk about it, we already know what to expect with Marshmallow, so why try to hide it?
 
I think it's more about the process of working out the bugs than anything. We all know the features of Android 6, but it's all the unknowns in getting it ready for a specific phone that they don't want out.

Yeah, I used to be a beta tester for Activision, and the NDA was pretty strict.

Does Motorola typically release changelogs of what's new in their updates? I'm really curious to see if they improved screen on time battery life, made it run better, and less crashing.
 
Boy that's a bummer. I've seen you talk about the battery life thing, but I haven't had any of those issues, especially no crashing or issues with it running well. I wonder if you've gotten a dud of some sort. Maybe talk with support and see if you can exchange.

I really can't... I had a friend ship the phone to me since I don't live in America and he does, so I can't return it without paying money to...

Yeah idk if the battery I'm having is what most people are having, or worse... I need an app or something that will diagnose what's hurting my phone.
 
There is no full-fledged soak test yet. According to Motorola’s David Schuster on Google+:

“There have been a couple reports of a Marshmallow “soak test” that has started for Moto X 2015 Pure Edition. Just want to make it clear that we have NOT started a formal “soak test”. We have started a small TestDrive for the Marshmallow upgrade on Moto X 2015 Pure Edition. We will be conducting these tests for the next couple of weeks. Pending the feedback during this test cycle will determine the timing of a full soak test.”
 
What's taking so long? They're probably trying to fix all the issues people have been having as well as adding new features :D

"Motorola has already started the release of Android 6.0 update to select group of users for testing on the Moto X Pure Edition (2015). The company is currently testing the firmware that will be followed by a soak test. It will be then eventually rolled out for general users."

It sounds as if the official "soak test" has not started yet.

So when will it be available to everyone? Like the full stable release. I mean, other Android OEMs are going to end up getting it before this phone...
 
If you sign up for the Motorola Feedback Network you might be selected for the soak test and have an opportunity to get Android 6.0 on your phone before the general release. See this post.
 
I use this as my daily driver so I don't want to risk it.... or lose my warranty, what's the reason for this taking so long anyway? I thought this was near stock Android.
 
It IS near stock Android, but there are Motorola enhancements in it and Moto wants to make sure everything works before they make the update widely available. First a limited test drive, then the full soak test, and then deployment. Plus this buys time for developers to get their apps updated to Android M compatibility. Few things worse than losing your favorite app's functionality because it wasn't updated for the latest operating system.

My Moto XPE is scheduled to arrive Monday. Hate the idea of getting it all set up then upgrading (at which time I usually like to do a factory reset) and then setup again... oh well, such is life..!
