Help Android Debug Bridge

What could be the cause (and solutions please) of not seeing any devices listed when entering code adb devices when trying to unlock your phone?

Also, make sure MTP is turned OFF (Settings -> Storage -> Menu (3 vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner) -> USB computer connection -> un-/de-select Media device (MTP)).

(My Nexus 5 will NOT connect to adb with MTP enabled)

You'll probably want to turn MTP back on later, after you've used USB debugging.

ive never seen adb connect to anything while mtp was connected. just usb hard disk. (connected as a ha drive) and if adb/fastboot does not recognize the device, then more than likely adb is not setup properly. you can google "15 second adb setup and youll bebgood to go after you run theor peogram, shouldbe from xda. then open cmd then type adb devices and you should popup and he able to continue.

Interesting - my HTC doesn't even have that option (ADB works fine though).

Hi,
If you are trying to unlock your android device with this method and after entering the second command you get something that says that the path was detected, could it be that the right drivers for the android device in question were not installed properly or the wrong ones were chosen? Thanks.

If it's your first time using adb on this machine, you need to accept the authorization prompt on the phones screen following the first adb devices attempt. Check the box to "always allow" then accept. Then it will be easier to use hax tools which utilize adb in the background...if that's what's going on here. Some of your comments led me to believe that might be what's going on but not sure.

Screen shots and very specific descriptions of the issue(s) will get your answer quickly. The people who've already answered above are the who's who of adb troubleshooting. Help them help you.
