You can check this app for syncing data between Mac and Samsung phones, it works as Android File Transfer (allows mounting Samsung to your Mac and transfer files) and as a bonus it allows syncing data between Mac and Samsung - personal data, media, folders, etc.

I had to disable the google backup and sync app to get Android File transfer to work on my iMac with my pixel xl.
