We did, for like 5 months! The no editing isn't a bug, it's by design. A design I hate, and am currently arguing about and making a case for.

Will this be fixed? It's clearly a bug and very annoying.I am being notified of all posts in watched sections. I'd assume that the replies to a watched thread would be for only threads that I'm specifically following, but that's not the case. When I logged back on just now, one of the alerts was even that someone started a thread in a forum I'm watching. I don't want to get alerted every time anyone starts a thread in a forum I'm watching.
Can you look into this?
Does it help to dial back the alert notification preferences? Will this be fixed? It's clearly a bug and very annoying.
I really dislike the fact that subforums are now "burried" at the bottom of the page for the parent forum. It took me a while to even figure this out, initially I thought the sub forums were just missing. I think this makes the subforums much more difficult to find, and will cause people to post things to the main forum that belong in the sub, because they aren't aware of the sub. Need to move the subforums back up to the top.
I already commented on this. It was an option in the old format. I haven't had a chance to check here though.
Not sure I understand your suggestion. If I turn off alerts then I won't get alerts that I want (like replies to a watched thread). I can't imagine anyone would want a system alert when there's a new thread or a new post is any random forum that you have favorited. It's just silly that's how it's working now.Does it help to dial back the alert notification preferences?
The Phaser got that part working earlier tonight.
Go to your red number, upper right on a browser, get the pull down, look for Alert Notifications in the first column.
The ones you don't like still register but you won't get the annoying pop-up now.

The alerts are kinda granular - I guess I'm asking if it's the popups, do we need more categories to control the granularity further, etc.Not sure I understand your suggestion. I turned off the first 2 options there last night and came back now and had 13 alerts about new threads being started and replies in threads that I've never even looked at. I'm not talking about popup, I'm talking about the red box at the top right. The alerts are kinda granular - I guess I'm asking if it's the popups, do we need more categories to control the granularity further, etc.
I get and agreed earlier that the alert on new thread was other.

Did kate's advice help?I turned off the first 2 options there last night and came back now and had 13 alerts about new threads being started and replies in threads that I've never even looked at. I'm not talking about popup, I'm talking about the red box at the top right.
Clear now? Obviously some sort of bug, right?
Go here: http://androidforums.com/watched/forums
At the bottom you can choose notification options on or off for each forum, just check next to each forum first
Does that help?
Under the "my posts" menu at the top of the page, choose "My Subscriptions." This will bring up a list like the old user cp. At the bottom of that list is your "All Subscribed" link.Where is the "All subscribed threads" link?

kate beat both of us to it anywayI was just coming to this thread to say just that! I finally figured that out. Talk about buried settings...
Got it, thanks!Under the "my posts" menu at the top of the page, choose "My Subscriptions." This will bring up a list like the old user cp. At the bottom of that list is your "All Subscribed" link.
It took me a bit to find it to.
Word I've heard is that this is affecting some users, not all. It is being worked on. I don't think an ETA is available. If you have content that needs to be added to any of your posts, simple report the post and include the new content in the report. One of us moderators that has editing capabilities (yup, some of us have issues too) will fix them up in the meantime. Is there an ETA of when the Edit function will be restored? I frequently add content to my original posts and I'm not happy with not having access to my original content, especially on threads I've started months ago. I've tried using Tapatalk and the Phandroid apps. Editing is disabled on those too. I know others have addressed the issue before but it is very important I can go back and edit my original content.
I must have missed Kate's post. I just tried it. Will see if that does it and still allows me to get updates for watched threads. Very confusing settings.Did kate's advice help?
Things are certainly different especially considering what's missing. Posting now requires very slow deliberate typing since there is no editing, no preview, similar to live broadcasting mistakes and all. Very different.
