Android keeping history after factory reset??

Its not a problem. Engadget is wrong. It stores it on the SD card, which doesnt get formatted during a factory reset, for obvuous reasons.

To do a TRUE factory reset, you have to format the internal storage, and then factory reset the phone memory. Then, remove / format the SD card.

They are not 100% wrong and you are not 100% correct either.

If you do NOT have a SD card, it will store it in the EMMC internal storage partition which does NOT get erased with a factory reset.

exactly. the phone treats the internal storage (emmc) as an SD card so it would be wrong to assume that it gets wiped when the phone is reset. i keep seeing this talked about everywhere and i really don't see the big deal here. just erase emmc before you do a factory reset. problem solved.
