Help Android tablet access denied to SD card when using third party file manager

And if it was a standard feature can you imagine the amount of phones returned for repair because that "safety" filter is removed and any idiot can completely mess up the system.
Having said that, I guess the same applies to desktop computers (or are they even warrantied for software damage? I'm a pc idiot so honestly don't know)

There is no safety filter in M$Windows and only a light one in Linux. Does this mean that the developers of Android have measured the users of to be so stupid that they should not be given anything more sharp than a towel.

I'm a PC pro (don't mean pro as a Pepsodent professional toothpaste) and know there will always be users, who mess their computers. I have done it tens of times myself.

When you mess your Windows, you can reinstall it. In the worst case our data is lost, but your iron still works.
You just command the device to boot from a DVD and reinstall it.
Even if you don't have a DVD, you can spend some money to get one.

If your Linux goes totally east and you have done things right, your data is not lost, when you reinstall the system. And it is free.

When you have lost control to your Android, you throw the iron to wastes and go buy a new one. There is nothing to do, when the worst comes. There is no BIOS, where you can command the device to boot from any other media. There is no magic 'three-finger-salute' which wakes the dead.

In iBad there seems to be a trick, but I'm not interested, because I don't like iBad format. They have decided to make it 8", when all the inside pockets of the black suits are 7".

Not true. Most can be booted into a recovery mode, from where a cache or data wipe will overcome issues like corrupted system files. OEMs often also include a software repair feature in their PC software suites e.g. Samsung and Sony, which can restore the device to the latest available firmware.

There is no BIOS, where you can command the device to boot from any other media.

Provided the device isn't completely DOA, the "fastboot" command can often be used via the ADB interface to boot an external kernel.

No offence intended, but I have to ask... exactly what are you hoping to accomplish here? None of us here have the power to change anything; we're mere end-users, same as you. There are workarounds to the SD card issue (the thread I linked previously explains a few iirc) but that's all we've got right now, I'm afraid.

So far I have had two totally bricked Android tablet myself and my customers have had two. Not Sony nor Samsung.

No offence taken
I know most of the readers of this forum are just normal users, who have no vote to the development.
Still I know there is always some profis of the Company, who read these messages and make some notes about them. I have done this myself some years ago for another company. A blind and deaf company is a dead company.

IMHO there is a lot of evolution to do in the world of computers. And I don't mean some puny changes like some new connectors. One way to make the development go on is to give feedback to the companies any way you can. Some comments might hurt but there is no life without pain.

A friend of me said -"Make them remember you, your work and your words. If nothing else works, step on their toes !"

Bye !
I'm not trying to find anything. I'm just wondering, why Google shoots to his/her leg.
And trying to find a way to make my tablets work as they should.

And yes, I have high expectations. I'm expecting the computer does what I'm asking it to do.
I have built computers from bare chips. Written operating systems for them and used them. Built and used touch screens with GUI before anybody even had a mouse. I know what can be done and what should not be done.

I'm waiting for a computer and system, which are built with _The_User_ in mind and not the marketing department.

There are some budget and cheapo devices from unknown manufacturers like that, usually Chinese. But very often with known devices, it's actually a magic "two-finger-salute" rather than three. There's Recovery, basically the Android equivalent of a PC's BIOS. :thumbsupdroid:

There are devices that can't be recovered at all once they're bricked, maybe because the manufacturer is unknown and has no support whatsoever, but we don't usually recommend them on this forum. Basically it's the $50-$60 things you might find at Walmart or Ebay, and might be considered disposable.

I couldn't agree more. The product might be good, but if it is not user friendly, and Samsung offers no
comprehensible support, it is not a good product. Samsung is excellent at selling, but disinterested in th3 user.
I simply want to move photos from gallery to SD card, to speed up my access to other functions. I can not do this, despite following the same path as my husband on his Galaxy note 10.1, albeit 2 years younger model. Mine is GT-N 8010
I have just bought an Apple, iPad, something I thought I would never do.

Really? All you had to do was open Gallery, select all the photos you wanted moved, create a folder in the SD card and select that.

Or, go to My Files app, and use it just like you would Windows Explorer. Simple Cut and Paste.

FYI to transfer your photos onto an SD with an Ipad or Iphone, you got to buy a $30 external accessory.

And if Apple decides to change the proprietary iPhone connector again with future IOS devices, like they did before, you got to buy all new accessories again, like SD card readers.
