Android Tv Box Flexiview FV-1

I have read somewhere in the thread that Samsung 1Ghz processor is better than Rockchip 1.2 Ghz.

What does "better" mean?

The differences between the two processors are important?

Is it true that the boxes with Android 2.3 and Rockchip support skype videochat?

In other words, if one can choose, what box is better to buy?
Thanks to the experts for the answers

Anyone can help on this.

I have to buy a new box and don't know which one.
If the two have the same performances and Rockchip on Android 2.3 supports skype videochat I would go with that.
Suggestions?

Its very easy same as windows.Just copy the file in a usb ,plug in to the box and click it it will lnstall.

But make sure before installing make sure you checkmark unknown source in setttings -> applications.

I hope you understand.

Thanks for your time.

Installed and working fine. Very useful resource.
Do you have any other suggestions of resources for movies, especially old movies (50s, 60s).

Thanks again for your help. :)

Samsung CPU is supposed to be faster because it has more cache size; and good gpu. However, if we are talking about the FV-1 box, the only major drawback for me is it can't output HD quality video.

Rockchip/Telechip/Amlogic can output HD/Full-HD quality video on your TV. The speed difference between Samsung and Rockchip or Amlogic are not a big deal (should avoid telechip because it is noticeable slower).

It is true that Android 2.3 support videochat, but not sure it applies to all Android 2.3-based boxes. You better confirm this point with the seller.

Yes:
  • Does the box support USB webcams?
  • Does it have a mic connector?
Don't think many do, regardless of Android version and/or CPU

Me too.....
When I was looking for "Ice Stream" I could find it on my PC and my San Francisco, but both said that it was incompatible with the FV-1. When I searched "Ice Stream" on my FV-1 I got same as you...

Firmware Update
There is zip file on the bottom of the page. There are many usefull apk. aplications.Choose "1Mobile_market". Install it from SD card. It works without authorization. Go ahead!

Excuse my ignorance, but I'd just like to ask if there is a similar box that has windows as the Operating system. I am not familiar with the android OS and downloading apps, but just wondered if there was a windows box that does a similar thing

many thanks in advance

I found a really good app. Its called APK Dumper, and you install it on your phone, go to the market and get all the apps you cant see or get to from your TV box, load the on the phone. Use the dumper which puts the .apk on your SD card, then simply transfer them back to the TV........way cool.

Hi everyone, my first message.

A trivial question: if I have a folder with some mp3 in the external hard disk, how do I play them one after the other ? Poweramp does not see the external hard disk and so winamp etc... The only solution is to create a playlist every time ?

Thanks

Hi,
I am happy to join the Flexiview community,
@stalker1971 : I use a very simple app which name is andLess (available on the market), which has the advantage of playing lossless files.
I use it with an external disk. There is a browser in the app and I can read mp3 one after another in a folder.
Well, you cannot expect a very polished app but it does what is expected.
Hope it helps !

Hallo, anyone say how change keyboard's layout? I have buyed a wireless keyboard but the layout used in FV-1 is US qwerty, I want change to Italian qwerty. The settings in setup affect only screen keyboard. Thank's :-)

You have to edit and replace the keymap file using a hex editor. There's info about how to do this floating around the interweb. Not really an "end user" task, but if you're a developer and know a bit about how Android works it's quite doable (even if I haven't bothered to dig into it yet).
