Android Tv Box Flexiview FV-1

You have to subscribe to Netflix by either paying monthly or yearly fee. Then you can play all the movies and series from Netflix without any limitation.

I believe you can try it for free for a month.

If you are not in US, you need to use unblockus service (7-day free trial) so that you can access Netflix from outside US.

Thanks for the info.

Can anyone able to find site for firmware updates ?

sorry, I delete this post.

Yes, that's it, but mine have 2.3 installed and 800 Mhz cpu, so skype voice/video chat is working as well. It was 140 dollars included shipping.

I think the product you have linked is still the FV-01.

I will also write a review as soon as I'll have some time. I'm looking forward for yours too though.

Hi,
first of all I want to thank all of you for the info provided: now I have a FV-1 with the October firmware, a market full of apps and a working keyboard with touchpad,:) and I am totally new to android!!
And now just a question:
is it possible to create and play a playlist on youtube?

Thank you

I just found a program IceFilms for Android....called Ice Stream..free...
has a database of over 70,000 movies and TV series....:)...very popular for users XBMC....
very good for the FV-1....there is an option for the stream, and download...

The unOfficial IceFilms App
Note: Please also install MoboPlayer, MX Video Player, or VPlayer to take full advantage of Ice Stream.
Ice Stream allows you to quickly and easily browse and watch the thousands of TV shows and movies cataloged by the IceFilms website. Simply choose a category when you first open the application and start browsing the huge collection of videos available to you. Once you find something you want to watch, choose one of the file sources. You will be given a choice to open the file by streaming it, open the file after first downloading it, or just download and save the file.
In order to play the video files you will need to have an application installed on your device that supports the DivX file format. Most devices will require the installation of one of the many free media players available on the Android Market. Not all media players have support for file streaming and these will require that the file first be downloaded. Three full featured media players that support the DivX file format and have streaming support are MoboPlayer, MX Video Player, and VPlayer. We highly recommend that you install one of these media players to take full advantage of Ice Stream.
Technical Notes: DivX formated files usually use the avi file extension, however, the avi file extension is also used for other file formats. The default video player installed on most devices supports the avi file extension, however, it does not support the DivX file format. Therefore if you try to play DivX files using the default video player it will result in the video player producing an error message. Also note that if the only media player installed on your device does not support the avi file extension or does not support streaming (and you choose to open the file by streaming it) you will receive an error message letting you know that no application is installed on your device that can open the file. To rectify all of these issues, we highly recommend you install one of the media players recommended above.

Hi,
Could you pleas happy fv-1 owners tell me how does video flash performance look like with the newest October firmware? I mean websites and services like BBC iPlayer, 4OD, itv websites or youtube with HIGH or HD quality set and full screen obviously. Is it flawless? Are there any problems with that?

thanks in advance for reply

As FV-1 doesn't output 1080P, opting for 1080P video makes no sense. I use the YouTube app when playing video (opting for HD) from YouTube. This has always worked well.
Embedded Flash video on other web pages initially didn't work at all (extremely choppy) but is now as smooth as can be expected

Just to let you know that Youtube app on Android cannot play HD video. The highest resolution it plays is what youtube call "HQ", which is 480x360 pixels (HD is 1280x720 or 1920x1080).

I would recommend those who wish to have an Android TV box which can output up to FullHD (1920x1080) video quality, should go for either Rockchip or Amlogic CPU.

Do those chips support flash hardware decoding?

Sadly all UK VOD services use adobe flash player. Also hd youtube or vimeo films are only accessible from a browser. Thats why it's important for me that tv box of my choice supports adobe flash perfectly. I'm starting to doubt there is one. Even on my core 2 duo equipped laptop if I disable hardware acceleration flash high resolution videos are unwatchable in full screen mode. Maybe logitech revue would do better instead of fv-1?

Rockchip, Telechip, and Amlogic-based unit can stream Vimeo HD fine (by just installing a Vimeo app which allows me to set for HD streaming, and it does not use Adobe Flash at all) because they all have hardware video decoder. Please note that Rockchip and Amlogic supports flash player, Telechip not.

As all android tv boxes are now treated as "mobile" devices by Froyo and Gingerbread, thus Youtube HD is restricted by Youtube app itself to only HQ quality. Browser on these boxes also won't allow you to browse youtube full website, it will always be redirected to the mobile Youtube website which also streams up to HQ quality (480x360) only.

You are right about Logitech Revue. It really gives stunning HD quality of Youtube HD and Vimeo HD.

Only if FV-1 can output HD quality video, it would be a perfect Android TV box. I understand that the Samsung chip inside the box is capable of doing so; but why it doesn't is beyond my understanding.

Iam too surprised as fv 1 Samsung chip is more supirior than the other rockchip etc.

BTW any one found any link for the box updates

I remember someone had direct contact with FV-1 vendor or support. Am I wrong?
If so, did any1 ask them if they plan to release a fw upgrade so the chip can output the 1080p correctly?

People who have purchased from good source should contact them and ask for the update. Iam sure they have just changes the ftp servers

Thanks for the replies. The first thing I did when I got the box was install Flash Player 11. So not sure how it would be with 10.1!! It is still unwatchable with the embedded flash streaming. Wonder how YouTube does it? I am reluctant to believe it is a problem with the box as both YouTube and the embedded flash sites use Flash Player. So why should there be such a marked difference? Still suspect a software firmware issue in how it is handled. I am planning to upgrade to latest U110781_1109050_HW and see if it makes any difference.

I know you may have since sorted this as I am yet to read the rest of the thread and I haven't been on in a while.

Move the cursor off the screen completely, and point the remote away from the box . Like in the complete opposite direction. Any sort of input from the motion control causes major video lag. (Especially when streaming)

Works for me anyway :)

Hi friend

we are the manufacturer of the Andorid TV box , kindly send the e-mail to me at : ailsalee2010@hotmail.com . best quality with the most competitive price

Hi. I guess most of us already have FV-1. We're not looking to buy new units but looking for some new firmware to make the device output 1080p (which is not working now).

So, it would be great if you (manufacturer) could provide us with some news about if you're going to release (or already have somewhere) new firmwares that will solve this. Thanks

Opera Mobile or InBrowser (other browsers perhaps) can pretend to be desktop versions so youtube works as it does on PC with HD option available to check in player. Flawlessly on FV-1? I doubt it.

For those who can be interested,
there is the FV-1 (seems to be) at an incredible price here:
1
Full HD 1080P HDMI Google Android 2.2 WIFI Media Player Internet TV Box HDTV | eBay

The vendor seems to be reliable (up to now).

I ordered this once from ebay due to unbelievably cheap price!. Next day, I received an email from ebay saying that this item has been delisted from ebay due to possible fraud.

I therefore tendered claims to ebay for refund, and got the refund the day after.

If anyone can prove that they actually get this item at this price, I'm willing to buy it again.
