A more kosher way to achieve this, is to to install a "null keyboard" - There are a few in Market - Like https://market.android.com/details?id=com.wparam.nullkeyboardHi all,
If you are using a wireless keyboard/mouse with the FV-1, then here is a mod that I find very useful.
You need root to do this, and an app like "Root Explorer", which will have this modification done in under 1 minute! It's EASY!
Firstly, if you are using a wireless keyboard and mouse, you may have noticed that the "popup" system keyboard gets in the way, and makes typing into things like webpage search fields, username and password fields. etc very very frustrating.
The fix for this, is to rename the default system keyboard app "LatinIME.apk", to something else, such as "LatinIME.apkxxx" which will completely disable it from interfering or popping up, and makes the FV-1 a pleasure to use!
Navigate to /system/app/LatinIME.apk and rename the file. That's it!
Then you switch between OSK and no OSK by selecting keyboard from settings.
