Android version 2.3.5

I just checked my friend's skyrocket which is a month old and he had Android version 2.3.6 so made me to realize to update my phone too.
went setting->software update-> check for update.... says "current software is up to date" but my phone says Android version 2.3.5
any idea?

I don't exactly remember but i believe i've done some updates when i purchased the phone(about 10 days ago).

The update was pulled but an explanation was not given

What do you mean by that? They just decided to get rid of 2.3.6 for certain users? Cuz my friend`s skyrocket has 2.3.6 android.

More like it was "recalled" no one knows why. We called in about it a couple of weeks ago and Samsung said the update was pulled for issues people were having and to watch for further updates.

The only weird thing I've noticed with 2.3.6 is that at low battery levels, it suddenly seems to shift to full brightness. If I turn off, and then back on Auto-Brightness (where I usually keep it), the brightness drops to where it is supposed to be again.

I dunno if anyone else has had any issues, but otherwise, 2.3.6 seems to be working well, at least for me.

Everything I have seen posted has been minor. Pulling an update may not be an issue with the update itself but could be the way they were applying it...or hidden security weaknesses etc.

The brightness issue is present on both 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 from what I have read
