AndyX ROM

I've already tried hydrog3n and d4. Wanted to try a sammy based ics ROM so i can have a feeling for all types. Andyx seems highly recommended so tonight I'd give it a try.

Beat me by 4 hours! v11 is cooking and the ETA is tomorrow...which is today now I think.
 
Do you still need to flash the asopcontacts download before flashing v10.1 zip? (or v11 for that matter!)

Also, I presume Siyah ICS works well with AndyRom?

If you want the AOSP contacts on the sammy-based AndyX, it's probably better to flash it after installing v10.1 or v11. I'm not sure how it works, but I like installing update files after the firmware update.

I'm thinking of crossing over to either AndyX or D4, although I know they are both very different. Guess I'll just have to try both and see!
 
Both are very different indeed butty.
There will be things in there that will immediately make you think "wow, I like that!", and there will also be things you just can't find that were present on your Sammy ROM, either because they simply are not there in the first place, or the way to get to it is not familiar.

Don't be put off when you use D4 (or Hydrog3n) firstly. Coming from a totally Sammy ROM background, my first go lasted half an hour before I restored my CheckROM CWM backup.
However I had a 2nd wind and thought I'd give it a proper go over a few days, and I got to really like it. If it wasnt for the twice as bad battery life and very poor browser scrolling, I would have stuck with it.
Since going back to GB, there has been a few more releases of Hydro+D4 and also Siyah releases, so hopefully, these issues will gradually be addressed. If so, it's a surefire daily runner for me.

literally just flashed v11 there now. Looking at the little android man flashing on my screen waiting for first boot! And whilst i was typing it has just changed to installing applications lol. Anyway will report back on what differences there is. As i had recieved a few fc during games etc.. with v10.1. Defintely a brilliant rom this!
 
Good old uploaded.to... I'll have this on my dropbox mirror in a couple of hours. At the moment though, I'm delaying the testing since D4 v8.0 came out.
 
hee hee. have been sticking with CRRv6 for a long time. too comfortable to make the jump from GB to ICS :p

have been stalking several ICS threads (eg D4, Hydrogen, Wanam, AndyX etc) and still indecisive whether to make this huge leap (to me at least) to ICS. but after reading several reviews by KIE, i guess i am ready to jump to ICS soon. thanks KIE matey!

There are still something that I don understand. ICS don recognize external SD storage? What is the issue abt ICS managing storage location? both internal and external. Some were saying we cannot install unsigned apps from external SD? ?_?

Glad to see you're giving it some thought now!

I've had no problems with copying apps to my external sd card or running apk files from the external sd card or anything. Some of the older ICS roms had those issues, but any good new rom should've fixed it.
 
thats weird when i go to delete a contact i dont get any fc. what launcher are you using? launcher shouldnt make a difference but its only thing different that we both could be doing. Quite gutted to see that they have removed "incognito Mode" from the browser. Rom seems to be very stable as far as i can see. Only problem i have so far is better life. Thinking about trying a different kernel to see which one is the best. But defintely a great rom.
 
Running Flash video in the browser makes the handset run very hot. I'm not sure that this is normal for ICS, or for version 11 of this ROM.
 
I don't get FC either when deleting contacts.

btw my dropbox account has been suspended for 3 days again :P. How many download from it?!
