AndyX ROM

So far this has been a great ROM.

Previously I was on Resurrection Rom 9.6, which was built from unofficial firmware. I had FC issues, and every couple days the phone wouldn't wake up, and I had to hard reboot. Many of my issues were fixed by westcrip in 9.7+, but I tend to wait to upgrade.

So far AndyX has been great! A couple FCs but much less, and so far no issues with wakeups.

Also on the Siyah 3.0.1 (non beta), everything seems to be working really well. Also nice to have the extra features again that I was used to from Gingerbread ROMS:
- BLN Support
- No ascending ringtone volume
- Camera app sound removals

Had a try of Omega (Blue/Black) last night, it looks very good, however I think it has just been modified from the Gingerbread version to run on ICS? Obviously I am no expert but none of the ICS upgrades are on it, long press home for running services, face unlock and the new settings layout etc, and when in "About Phone" it lists the Android version as 2.3.6. I had problems downloading kitchen tools to modify various things, well not problems it just wouldn't do it, so I'm back on AndyX until CheckROM do their thing! I was going to try Wanamlite but the post's previous suggest AndyX is better and smoother.

Is there anyway to modify any of the status bar icons? as the screenshots of AndyX show a different battery icon, or is that from an earlier version?

Also, I was wandering if apps like Startup Auditor, drain the battery?

Thanks...

Sorry, just realised I have already asked that last question here!

Sounds like you've done something wrong. I downloaded Omega Blue/Black version 9 yesterday and it's ICS 4.0.3 with all the features. Did you download the newest version and did you do a fullwipe + wipe cache + wipe dalvik + wipe battery stats before installing?

OK so far after a few days I only have one issue.

1 time yesterday and again today, the phone showed 'No Service', and I lost all radios (phone, 3g, wifi).

Only way to fix was a restart and it immediately was fine again. I don't know if it's related to AndyX, or Siyah 3.0.1 kernel. Since it was radio related I'm guessing it's kernel.

I thought I had done both, i'll have a check and try again, I have been trying Resurrection 1.3 and Foxhound Otacon today. These have the same problem as CM9 and Hydrog3n, in that they are unable to display ext sd. I found out the files are located in emmc, but doubleTwist can't find them to play from the UI. However, all other features appear to be working fine and resurrection has the unicorn ROM control which has lots of tweaks and mods, not like JK though, which has the best i've seen so far...

Yeah, I'm with you there, Been trying out Omega v9 Black/Blue for the last few days but it seems to be a little glitchy which is a shame as the theme looks very good and a lot different than anything else out there. I also tried Resurrection 1.3 which is also very good but I got side-tracked checking out Omega. I think overall AndyX is probably the best out there at the moment, at least from what I have tried although I haven't tested out Resurrection for any length of time.

Can't wait for Checkrom v7 though!

I've follow the steps to install.

1 - Being Root

2 - Copy from the PC file AndyX_ROM_v10_ICS_4.0.3_XWLP7.zip on the SD card

3 - Restart the phone in Recovery Mode

4 - Make Wipes:

* Wipe data

* Wipe cache

* Wipe Dalvik cache

* Wipe battery stats

5 - Install zip from sd card

6 - Locate the file and mark AndyX_ROM_v10_ICS_4.0.3_XWLP7.zip as i begin to flash the ROM

7 - Reboot system now

8 - Ready, enjoy the Rom!

Installed ROM from SD, but the phone will not reboot. Stops on the Samsung Galazy SII screen. Tried with SiyahKernel v3.1rc4, but still no luck. What am I doing wrong? :((

sounds like the rom you downloaded might be corrupt. had this happen to me last night when i was trying Dragon ICS. try downloading it again (to a different folder from your last rom download) and try reflashing.

I generally install from internal memory when flashing a new rom instead of sd card ,just feel this connects better with the phone,tbh :rolleyes:

Thanks. Will try to download again. I've put it both on external and internal memory. Same problem with the AndyX_ROM_v.10_OFICIAL_ICS_4.0.3_XWLP7.

I already downloaded V10, seems ok, but I've not been doing much with my phone this weekend. But I'll stick 10.1 on when it comes out tomorrow anyway :)

Thanks for keeping this updated guys! I'm pretty busy on weekends so I can't check for updates then.

Looks like v10.1 will be a keeper, I'll wait for the upload and then do a full update :D

Yeah there's a few weird bugs in 10, such as mobile sites not working, Facebook not working etc. Hopefully 10.1 will sort all this out - then the ROM will be close to perfection!

I installed V9 today. Workes GREAT! I'm a noob, so is it possible to upgrade to V10.1 (when it arrives) without losing all apps etc? Is it just to install from SD (external/internal) and don't do wipes?

You'll have to do wipes going from v9.0 to v10.1 because of the kernel/modem change.

You can backup all of your apps and app data using Titanium Backup. Titanium has a batch backup option. I'd buy the full version if you have a tonne of apps since the unpaid version has annoyances when restoring. I would also advise backing up your SMS using SMS Backup and Restore.

Then once everything is backed up, go into CWM, do a full wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik (in advanced) and clear battery stats (also in advanced) and install v10.1. Then once you've set your phone up, you can go into the play store and re-download Titanium Backup, restore all your apps+data (using batch mode again) and then restore your SMS :D

Thank you! :) I lost all my SMS (first time around), but now I know of SMS Backup and Restore. So thank you again, hehe. I have Titanium Backup, but can't find out how to restore a backup :o You didn't say wipe data, but I guess that is necessary too?

Please advise how many hours today will 10.1 be available ? Currently on v9.0 however in my opinion v7.1was the smoothest to date;) how ever v9.0 has a lot more to offer part from the freezing or forced closes. Not a full wipe issue. Therefore having similar comments from others about v10.0 I would prefer to wait for v10.1. Pls advise on 10.1 :D
