AndyX ROM

Running v6.0 and all seems good to me except I think same issue as one of previous versions re apps2sd.
None of my apps can move to SD card and cannot update any via market, etc.
Anyone having same issue?

It's a common problem going back to at least LPB and certainly LPH. I have the same problem for the odd app on the Wanamlite ROM.

The solution is to simply unmount your SD card and then update the app. Then just remount the SD card afterwards. You not being able to move apps to the SD card probably wont be resolved, but unless you've filled your phone memory up, it's not an issue.

Guys, sorry to tell you that Andy's ROM thread over on xda developers has been closed for repeated rules violations on posting material on the thread.

Its not a surprise to me as the OP was warned repeatedly about some of the things he was doing.

So, you may want to try another ROM while the OP attempts to get his thread reopened (which I'm not sure is possible).

So anyone tried any others Roms? ICS of course

They all have their own issues but for me, Wanamlite's been about the most consistent.

Check out the device thread on XDA Developers.

I'm using version 6.1 now but there still problems with the Camera+Gallery. If you taking picture and press preview then you either get FC or reboot. In GalleryDemo crashes when edit the picture. Where as v5.3 everything is more stable. Version 6.1 has higher quadrant score than 5.3 by 1000points to 1300points. But I can't fixed the camera crashing problem.

V5.3 quadrant score: 2600-3100 (rarely reached 3000)
V6.1 quadrant score: 3600-4200

Does anyone know AndyX email address? I would like to contact him and provide feed back. Lost contact with him after XDA exiled him out of the forum.

Pm me his email address so I can help him with fixing these bugs.

Does anyone know why his thread was closed?

It just says multiple infractions

Without going into all the details (as I do have some knowledge of the subject), the AndyRom developer broke a lot of the rules that XDA have to follow. If you look at the house-rules, there are some that were consistently broken and which he never explained why he did things in the ways that he did (like only uploading to premium download servers!) and also begging for money when his laptop broke (supposedly) at the very start of his thread one time. The latter is clearly against what XDA stand for.

Sorry but he only got what he deserved I'm afraid. Maybe he didn't realise but he was warned a number of times.

But, if anybody does really want to try and get him reinstated (I thought about it after making some enquiries but thought against it), you can right an email to:

help@xda-developers.com

Thanks for that - yeah those things were annoying.

That's cleared things up for me, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't for something like inserting bad code or spyware into his ROM. I'm sure he's a good person but you can never be certain.

I'm not desperate for him to be reinstated, just happy to know I can stick with AndyX ROM v6 until something better comes out

Cheers

Actually, that's a really good point and it did pass my mind a week or two ago.
How easy would it be for someone to put malicious code into a custom rom?

Xda is reputable site so I would've thought that if they did shut down a devs ROM for that reason they would actually say that was why. If they didn't they would be letting someone carry on screwing the people who flashed the ROM.

Exactly but I do tend to stick with developers who have a decent following on XDA and reputation.

So I go away for 2 weeks and the thread gets shut down. Great! New beginnings all round!

Welcome back!

As for AndyX ROM - it's not resurfaced anywhere yet. I think it must be gone for good.

I'm not sure about any good ICS alternatives, some people have said WanamLite is good...?

AndyX has 6.2 released now, it's just not on xda, I think the thread was unlocked, check it again! You just have to Google for it, and a lot of the sites are in spanish I think...

I do not like some of this kid attitudes but v6.2 is what i would call "final". This rom(6.2) is stable and smooth.

Answering Kevin, 6.1 had too many FC. I had none on 6.2.
