AndyX ROM

There's barely any difference! I couldn't recommend one over the other. However, I've grown comfortable with AndyX so I'm sticking with it over wanam :D

I wanna try AndyX but i realized that it came with alot alot of apps by default. mostly are sammy apps. kinda troublesome to delete. plus nt really sure which one to delete (cos ICS itself have alot of new apps) :(

How are you finding the battery with AndyX? I ask because I'm running V11 now and have some pretty horrendous battery drain. What Kernal / Govenor are you running? Did you change them from what comes with AndyX? Also what Modem are you on?
I know it can sometimes take a new rom a little while to settle on the phone and battery can improve but Ive never seen anything this bad while changing roms.
 
hmm im using nova launcher. i cant see it making a difference tho tbh.

Just had my first error myself. Tried to use the camera and had "camera failed"
 
For some reason, the messaging icon at the bottom on the launcher screen tells me that it's not installed. Deleted it and replaced it with the message program in the menu. Now Works.

Ive had this issue with all ICS roms ive used. But as mentioned swapping it with the icon in the menu works. Now if I can just sort my battery out:o
 
I can't change my default ringtone and notification tone on v11.
Anyone else having this trouble?

Edit: I reboot the handset and its working now.

I'm finding andyx v11 very good so far. My big gripes with hydog3n and d4 were battery drain and browser smoothness. Obviously too soon to judge battery, but the browser is excellent. It's smoothness is pretty much up to gb standards. Whether this is due to the rom or latest siyah i can't say. I'll have a better idea when i try them out again next week.
I shall keep this on for the next few days, so it's goodbye checkrom for me! I will say however, that this isnt a patch on D4 and Hydrog3n in terms of confugurability and features, but I'm really liking it so far mostly due to its GB-like browser smoothness.

Are there any themes for this rom? In particular for the battery icon. This is one of the many things i miss coming from hydro/d4 is the ability to chance battery icon on the fly.

Yep I had the same issue. Thanks for the tip! This is the first time it has happened to me though.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I think we've had awesome browser smoothness since v6 or v7, so it was weird to got to other roms and have jerky browsers. Good to be back on AndyX for a little while :D

Apparently these are battery mods for AndyX. I haven't tried them yet (although now I will, since you made me find the link :D)

My review of v11 is that it's the same as v10.1, except for that weird messaging app issue. I'll update OP sometime!

Is browser really this impt? i mean i thou most ppl use 3rd third browses like opera or dolphin? I wanted to try D4 but after hearing u mentioned abt the battery drain i gave it a second thought :(

I think i know the main difference between Wanam and AndyX. AndyX contains more tweaks and mods than Wanam such as the Sony Bravia mod and the Beat audio tweak. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyone here has tried disabling the system apps? mind sharing which apps u disabled? I tried disabled alot of apps and dunno if they affect anything. :confused:

another qns is did anyone lost root after flashing AndyX? apparently after I flashed AndyX and CF Kernel, I still did not get root access. I need to flash other Kernels like Pheno or Siyah in order to get rooted. Weird...

Well i don't think many people use the stock browser. Even Dolphin and other browsers have bad scrolling on most ICS roms; it's more about the rom than the type of browser.

I just tried a battery icon and it worked! Easy to install from CWM. They may work with other roms too (probably wanam :P)

I always thought you had to be rooted to be on a custom rom...but then again Mobile Odin has the option to root while flashing (lol) so you're always safe. Flashing cf-root is the to root, so you really should be rooted if you're flashing that. But there's nothing wrong with Siyah if it helps :)
 
I think I'm going to reflash and see if I did something wrong. I went to bed last night about 8 hours ago and my battery was 100 % its now 66% I've never had such drain before. I also can't access any paid app on the market it just gives me an error but free app are fine. To the last question, yes I also lost root when flashing this and had to flash a new kernel to get it again.
 
I tried one of those battery mods. Works a treat, thanks kie.
Losing root after flashing a rom most often occurs if you flash a kernel immediately after without booting the rom.

I had good battery drain overnight. 1% per hour, so GB-esque.

I'm on siyah but still can't get bln working on this. Has anyone else got this issue?
 
Ive gone back to Wanam as I just found this very unstable on my phone. Im not sure why but going to test Wanam for a few days and see if the battery holds up better
 
I stuck TWiz on default, but can't find the option to uncheck it? I'd like to try the others on this Rom. Can anyone help?

Go To Settings > Applications > All

Come down the list untill you find "TwLauncher". Select It And Come Down Untill You See "Clear Defaults"


....

AndyX v11 Does Not Seem To Be As Stable As I Thought. If I Try & Open "Music" It FC. Few other apps appear to be force closing. Hopefully be an update soon.
 
hello guys, i just only wanna ask which launcher do you prefer most among the 4, apex launcher, nova launcher, trebuchet, twlauncher? ty
