Angry birds?

I'm with the poster above that can't find the app. Android Market doesn't even have it listed if you search for it (Tried "Angry Birds" and "Angry Birds Lite"), and Appbrain has it listed but when you attempt to actually download it says "The requested item could not be found.". I'm rooted with One Click installed - has anyone else that has a rooted phone been able to download this in the last 30 minutes? Has anyone at all been able to download it, and if so is it a stock phone or..?

load up the game and when you see the loading screen, tap all over the screen... just tap it with your fingers... see if it lets you get thru..

This worked for me. If you opened the app already and it crashed, close out the app using an app killer or task manager. Re-open the app and tap/swipe your fingers across the screen as soon as it opens, and it may let you in.

If enough people confirm this, please add it to the first post and sticky!

Ok, so I've just managed to get it to download, even though it won't show up on the Market. Here's what you need to do. Skip the first few steps if you've already got an AppBrain account (definitely worth getting one if you've not).

  1. Set up an account on AppBrain - the best Android apps and games on the Android market (it's all free!)
  2. Install the AppBrain app on your phone. Here's the QR code:

  3. Install the Fast Web Installer app on your phone. Here's the QR code:

  4. Click the Install button on the Angry Birds page here
  5. Job done! Make sure the AppBrain app is running on your phone, and Angry Bids should automatically download.
Hope this helps someone!

I synched my appbrain and tried to install Angry Birds. It just says "the requested item could not be found"

On both my Wildfire and my brothers Galaxy Portal, doesn't appear on the market.

Tried to use the above method with Appbrain but comes up with area message (requested item could not be found) though does 1/2 show Angry Birds, same as if you search on appbrain...

That's what was happening to me too - but if you install Fast Web Installer from AppBrain first, then click the download button on the Angry Birds page of the AppBrain website, it downloads automatically (without using syncing stuff in the AppBrain app). I said AppBrain a lot of times then.

Tapping/Swiping the screen doesn't increase your chances... If it seems to work, it's probably random chance. I tested that method, and I still have to try several times before it successfully loads.

I misread your original post then. I'm downloading it now. Thanks!

Tried doing that, going directly to Appbrain's website from the phone. Pull up the page for Angry Birds, and the only type of download or install link present anywhere on the page is "Download directly from the Android Market", which when clicked, generates the aforementioned "The requested object could not be found".

Did you run the Fast Web Installer app on your phone first? I think you might need to run it and put in your AppBrain details so it links up to the site.

download the appbrain app and the fast web installer to your phone. create an appbrain account or just link it to a googlemail account you may have. then if you go to your pc and find the angry birds page there and click install, it should install straight to your phone, as long as your logged into your account on your pc.

thats how i did it anyway

Tried that too. Clicked the install link on the website. Synced on the phone. The Angry Birds prog shows up in the list as Install. Click it, get the "Requested item could not be found".

Seems Market access is the biggest problem, which is nothing to do with the programme itself to be fair.

It's definitely on the market, as that's how I got it. I simply searched for angry birds, and it's listed as angry birds lite beta. I'm on 2.2 though, so maybe it's 2.2 only? It installed to only the SD card by default, so perhaps it IS 2.2 only.

I'm using SGS with 2.1 and I can confirm it works fine.
