Angry Birds

I downloaded it from the market for my Desire. It has worked fine from day one, on both 2.1 and 2.2.

I don't play games too much on my Desire, but I have to admit to obtaining three stars on ten of the fifteen levels so far!

it opens & runs on 1st try on my evo, but I do a task kill prior to launch to make sure I have plenty of free ram

It works, just usually never on the first opening. You have to open it around 16-17 times before it'll run right. I'm having less issues on my Evo since the second beta thing here... still have to open it quite a bit to get it to run though some times.

It was the exact same for me. No less than 5 attempts (sometimes a cool dozen) to get it to work on my Evo, but that was before the last update in the market. Now it runs in under 3 tries (usually on the first attempt).

Since you're an Angry Bird "master", please tell me how to get past level 1-4. I've probably tried this 50 times and can't get past it.

you know once you launch the lil birds, you can tap them again, and they will split into 3 birds

I did not know that. So I tried it...... all that happens when I tap the lil birds after launch is the screen scrolls back to the slingshot.

First, at the beginning of the level, pinch the screen. This will cause it to zoom out. Pinch until it is zoomed out to the max. This will help you to better gage your accuracy.

Then, as R1 said, fire off your bird and, when appropriate, tap the screen anywhere to cause the birds to split into 3. With your first shot, take out all of the ice that you can. I recommend waiting to split the birds until the very last moment, and target them to hit the base of the ice.

Tip: With the Blue (splitting) birds, the further away your split them, the wider the area of damage. The closer you split them to your target, the more concentrated the damage will be (much more damage will be done to a small area). Keep this in mind when you are trying to hit deep on lvl 12.

I was just about to say that :o

Yeah, the instructions during the game are not very clear (during our first run through the game, they pop up a picture of the bird and a finger and expect you to get what it's illustrating).

For future reference:
Red Bird - Does nothing special
Blue Bird - Splits into birds when you touch the screen
Yellow Bird - Increases destructive velocity when you touch the screen. *Addition, when you touch the screen for the yellow bird, gravity no longer has any real effect on trajectory and it will continue in the same direction after you touch the screen.
Black Bird - When it lands it starts a timer to explode, OR you can touch the screen to cause mandatory detonation. (Remember NOT to touch the screen while the black bird is in the air!)

And remember that you can pinch the screen to zoom out, it will help to increase your accuracy.

I can't wait to see what that white one does (or the giant red one) in the full version.
 
I still can't get the blue birds to split. When I tap the screen, it zooms back in.

EDIT: Have to tap the screen while the little buggers are in flight.

Oops... sorry for not clarifying that you needed to fire off the bird before you tap the screen.
 
Installed from that link fine, the problem is the function of the app. Main screen comes up and then goes black, then cuts out. Repeat, same thing. Repeat, same thing. Even got it to finally dl through AppBrain. Same thing, main screen pops up and then goes black.

Very dissapointing.
 
I've had it on my iPod for a while, still haven't gotten past the 3rd set of levels but I completed the Android beta version in a day. Addicting game indeed.
 
I finally upgraded to 2.2 & now I see what everyone meant about the app opening & closing... It opened on the 1st try every time when I was on 2.1
 
I've got 3 stars on all levels except 7 (2 stars), 12 (2 stars), 15 (2 stars).

Can't get 3 stars on those 3 levels but other than that I beat the game in 2 days.

Lvl 7 is pretty hard. You have to fire the bird steeply up into the air so that it's coming down between the first two pigs. If I recall, it must hit both of those boards that are almost touching. If you do it just right, you will take out the 2nd pig directly, the stuff up front will fall (and kill) the 1st pig, the little grey rock will fall and kill the 3rd (mini) pig, and the stuff on the back side will fall on the last pig. Then all you have to do is fire one directly at the 4th (and if you didn't happen to take out the 5th pig with the first shot, you may be able to take him out with the 2nd shot). This allows you to finish the level with 3 birds leftover and enough points to reach 3 stars.

On Lvl 12 I have a score of 66000 and I cannot remember how to do it:o Other than, you don't split the birds until a split second before they hit the ice.

high score of 82230 in lvl 15. I do not remember if you deliver to the 2nd or 3rd pig across the top...
 
Fun game. took me forever to get the third star on number 7. all I can say is it just takes a lucky shot. Nothing magical.
