Is there a different way to deodex my phone other than installing the blackglass rom? what i have read, says that with the version 2.3.340 it will not work. So either it will or there has to be another way around it.

Do NOT use BG theme with .320 or higher, it will brick your phone. Most ROMs will deodex your phone now. Just ask before flashing and someone can answer if you are unsure.

Any yes you can mnaually deodex but it's easier to let a ROM do it IMO.

if you are looking to do a different rom anyways just flash any 2.2 custom rom. all custom roms are deodexed.

If your going to use a custom rom then you dont have to worry about it. The rom will deodex for you. If you are going to stay stock you can use the zip here to deodex. Its the download link under notes Themes For Stock ROM - 2.3.340 - xda-developers

Well if you are going to install a rom then no need to as it will deodex for you but if all you want is a theme then here is a link
