I select a different screen and preview it and set it. I still get the default
VE
LO
CI
TY
screen upon reboot. Is this script function working for everyone else and just something affecting me?

I have been able to change the boot animation with zero issues though.
 
after you preview the screen you have to go back in and select the one you want and say no to preview and it will download and set the new splash screen
 
The splash screen is just before the
VE
LO
CI
TY
screen, and I agree with the OP, I want that ugly screen gone as well...no offence to the devs, I just dont like that screen.

is the splash screen I should have put in my earlier post that your boot loader must be unlocked to change this splash screen. The lg logo you will never change that is in the firmware of the phone

As mentioned the splash is the one you see before the Velocity Screen, this one is in the recovery or the kernel iirc. I just want to say though, for a screen that shows for about 2 seconds only when you reboot your phone, you kids sure are bitching alot.


Get over it.

Not bitching, just want the customization with that screen that is possible with the other boot screens.
 
Hope that wasn't directed at me savoxis, I don't think my original question was "bitching" at all, I was just curious if the script wasn't working for me and it turned out that I had a misunderstanding of which screen it replaced anyway. I should have remembered, I actually contributed 2 of the custom splash screens and I remember being told at the time that they replace the initial LG logo.
 
I tried replacing mine now I dont even get the lg logo, all I get is blue screen then a black screen then the Velocity screen ..

When the splash screens mess up youll get a blue screen, just reflash and if it doesnt work then clear download cache and try again
