Help AntiShake Camera?

Are there any additional options that I can use when taking a picture? I hate that if my hands are shaky the pictures turn out blurred. Is there an app I can download that would add more options?
 
I too desire this function. I miss using my old Canon with steadyshot. Taking pics with a cell phone camera sucks if you're not completely still.

sorry, that wasn't any help haha. I don't know, but I have noticed that it's a little difficult to take crisp pictures sometimes. I think a dedicated camera button would help a lot actually

That's a big complaint that I have about HTC. They never put any effort into their cameras. Who want's a 8mp camera with no antishake or antiblur? It almost defeats the purpose of having a good camera

There are photo taking apps out there that have anti-shake (I think Camera Zoom FX), but it only stops you from taking a pic unless you're totally steady.
 
Camera has an Auto Focus setting.. Use it.. it'll help quite a bit. You don't have to tap the screen or optical button to focus anymore.. that way your hands are always holding the phone/camera while the the camera does the auto focus.
 
I don't have a problem taking pics at all w mine. I just make sure to do a half press on the button to lock in focus before snapping the pic. It also helps to have a steady hand or to find something to rest the phone on when you want better clarity.
 
Antishaking means less shutter time. Less exposure means crappier pics (less bright, in other words). Steady out your hands...

Ahhh, I'm glad they finally put it in. I emailed the developer way back about it and he said he'd work on it. Vignette is my fave camera app. While I still take more pics with the default camera app, I import a lot of pictures into Vignette for a quick effect.

Now, I think the only one thing missing from Vignette is the option to tap to focus, but hold down to focus and take pic. I like that they added a tap to focus option, but wish it didn't require to go and pushing the button to take a pic.
 
just before you focus, breath out completely...like, let all the air out of your lungs, THEN focus and take picture. it's an old sniper/gun shot trick ;)
 
Ironically I have no problem shooting but when I take a pic, my brain is always going "don't let your hands shake, don't let your hands shake, don't let your hands shake"...

I'm a damn mess!!


Ya probably just screwed me up for shooting now too!! :eek:

Even more than having to hit the physical button?! Can't be...just a light press and hold with your thumb after the initial autofocus should take the picture. For me that's about as steady as you can possibly hold the phone.

You're missing the point. Tapping the screen tells the camera what to focus on. (Or, more precisely where in the viewfinder to focus.)

Or maybe that only affects spot metering.... I'm not entirely sure. I'll have to play around with that.

Pointing your camera to the object also does the same.. if it's in auto focus mode. That is what I do.
Pretty much every time, the object you want to capture is centered on your screen.

You can also over-ride auto focus while it is auto focussing.. by touching the screen at the spot you want it to focus. You can't go wrong with this.

Yup, cannot explain it! Its totally psychological!!

Sometimes even "longpressing" something to copy it causes my hand to shake too...

You and I compose pictures differently. ;)

I agree that just pushing the button is fine for quick snapshots where the subject *is* centered.

But if you want to remove the guesswork, just tap the screen. That's what people are talking about.

They *ARE* using auto-focus. They're just using it more efficiently.
